Valiant Solutions is seeking a Vulnerability Scanning Security Analyst with a hunger and drive to advance knowledge and skill in vulnerability analysis and remediation. The candidate should have a broad understanding of Enterprise Operating Systems, and Enterprise Networking. The candidate should have a basic understanding of TCP/IP port assignment, effective written communication, and time management.

Experience Requirements
- 5+ years in IT security
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or related degree or an additional two (2) years of relevant experience.
- 2+ years conducting vulnerability scanning using Enterprise OS scanning tools such as Tenable Nessus or Rapid 7 Nexpose.
- Experience with systems administration with a variety of operating systems.
- Understand permissions in various OS types and be familiar with authentication mechanisms particularly as it relates to scan tools.
- Experience installing and configuring operating systems.
- Experience analyzing and interpreting and presenting scan reports.
- Experience with web application or Database Scan tools.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, Perl or other interpreted languages
- Experience with Wifi scanning tools.
Responsibilities Include:
- Being able to work autonomously
- Responding to client request through email, call, chat, and ticket requests
- Security tool development: researching, planning, and implementing new tool features to make security tools more effective
- Configuring and running host vulnerability scans, web application scans, adding new hosts to scan lists
- Further developing scan tools to continue to develop our client’s continuous monitoring program -Interpreting vulnerability and web application scan reports and explaining these to internal customers to assist with remediation efforts
- Configuring and developing an enterprise SIEM solution including signature tuning, development of correlation rules, reports, and alarms
- Researching and developing new security solutions
- Research security vulnerabilities and provide reports as needed.
- Triage security vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation suggestions based on knowledge of the environment
- Troubleshooting issues with security tools. Owning the problem and seeing it through to resolution -Deploying new security tools, configuring their host systems and the tool from an out-of-the-box configuration to a production-ready state
- Document existing and new solutions
- Perform all special projects and other work-related duties as assigned including corporate related tasks

Referral Bonuses
The salary range for this position is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. It has been benchmarked in relation to the scope of the role, market rate, and internal equity. The salary for this role is expected to be in the $114,000 - $120,000 range. Where a candidate falls within the band can be determined based on one or more of the following: skillset, experience level, achievements, education, geographic location, security clearance, involvement in corporate tasks, and other non-discriminatory factors. In addition to the base salary, this role will include benefits as described above. Valiant reserves the right to adjust the salary range, experience requirements, and position responsibilities at any time without prior notice.
