About the Job

Agility Robotics is deploying humanoid robots that are solving real-world challenges in logistics and manufacturing. We’re seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead the perception team in the development of object detection and mapping systems.

About the Work

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for the perception team. Work with tech leads and product to create a unified roadmap and release schedule
  • Lead development of perception algorithms in areas such as object detection, pose estimation, SLAM and MLOps
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of 5+ software engineers
  • Drive best practices for development, review, testing, and deployment that will ensure high-quality releases to production
  • Grow the team by sourcing, hiring, and onboarding highly talented and passionate engineers
  • Collaborate with navigation, manipulation and hardware teams to align perception capabilities with product requirements

About You

  • 6+ years of industry experience developing/deploying perception algorithms on mobile robots with at least 2 years of experience managing a team of 5 or more engineers
  • Familiarity with deep learning, object detection, pose estimation, MLOps, SLAM with a deep technical background in one or more of these
  • Familiarity with common computer vision and machine learning libraries such as (but not limited to) PyTorch, OpenCV, etc.
  • Experience growing a team and hiring top talent
  • Strong software experience in modern C++ and Python with a history of delivering production quality code that is observable and extensible 
  • Exposure to standard agile and software development processes (issue tracking tools (Jira), feature branching, version control (Git), continuous integration and deployment)

 

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience working with various sensing technologies (monocular cameras, stereo cameras, lidar, etc.)
  • Experience with GPU Programming (eg. CUDA, OpenGL)
  • Publications in your field (CVPR, ICCV, RSS, ICRA preferred)
