Job description

Copywriter

About Product School:

Product School is the global leader in product training, with a thriving community of over two million professionals. We offer live, online certifications taught by Product Leaders from top Silicon Valley companies like Google, Meta, Netflix, and Amazon. In addition to certifications, we host ProductCon, the world’s largest product management conference, and produce The Product Podcast, a leading podcast for product professionals.

Founded 10 years ago, Product School was bootstrapped for the first 7 years before raising $25 million from Leeds Illuminate. We are proud to be a profitable, fast-growing company shaping the future of education.

Joining Product School means…

…you’re coming aboard at an exciting time: we have established an incredible product with a strong product-market fit that is beloved by customers, (check out our reviews on Course Report, Yelp, and Quora).  We need you to help supercharge our momentum to accelerate our growth.

The Role:

As part of the Marketing team, the Copywriter will take ownership of developing, managing, and optimizing Product School’s blog and related SEO-driven content to grow brand awareness, drive organic traffic, and convert traffic into leads. You will collaborate closely with our external SEO agency, as well as cross-functional marketing teams, to ensure that your copy aligns with our overall Marketing strategy and that we rank in top search results for relevant keywords. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating compelling lead magnets tailored to our consumer business and producing whitepapers and other high-value collateral for our enterprise unit, ensuring each piece of content effectively engages its target audience and drives measurable results.

This role is perfect for someone who:

  • Lives and breathes SEO and long-form copywriting
  • Loves to create highly converting and on-brand content for the right audience, at the right time, via the right channels
  • Can execute independently, thrives on solving problems, and iterates based on performance metrics

What you'll do:

  • Traffic Generation:
      • Keyword Strategy & Research: Collaborate with our external SEO agency to identify high-value keywords relevant to Product School’s audience.
      • SEO-Optimized Content Creation: Write clear and compelling blog posts for our blog incorporating target keywords, meta tags, internal linking, and other latest SEO best practices.
      • Performance Tracking: Aim to increase organic traffic by and help rank for Product School’s top keywords.
      • Continual Improvement: Use analytics to audit content performance and regularly optimize copy to stay ahead of keyword trends and maintain SEO best practices.
    Lead Conversion:
      • Lead Magnet Development: Conceptualize and produce compelling lead magnets (e.g., ebooks, whitepapers, checklists, templates, and reports) that address audience pain points.
      • On-Page Conversion & CTA Optimization: Integrate calls-to-action effectively within blog posts and other content, using A/B testing to refine copy and design.
      • Distribution Strategy: Partner with marketing teammates to lead on distribution across social, web, lifecycle marketing, and paid channels.
      • Conversion Metrics: Work toward an increase in conversion rates on key blog pages and ensure lead magnet downloads and engagement rates increase quarter over quarter.
    Content Quality and Consistency:
      • Editorial Calendar: Maintain a content calendar to ensure timely publication of high-quality, on-brand, and fully optimized content.
      • Content Audits: Conduct regular content audits to align materials with SEO and brand standards, ensuring the top keywords remain on page 1.
    Analytics and Reporting:
      • Weekly Blog & SEO Analytics: Track and report on key blog and SEO metrics, providing insights on performance, successes, and areas for improvement.

This role could be a good fit for you if:

  • You have 3+ years of experience managing blog content with a focus on SEO, conversion, and thought leadership.
  • You’re comfortable being the “voice” of a brand and can adapt your tone to different audiences.
  • You’ve successfully created lead magnets driving conversion rates.
  • You have experience working on cross-functional marketing programs and are a collaborative team player.
  • You are a self-starter who can propose solutions, not just identify problems.
  • You have native-level fluency in English, with excellent grammar and attention to detail.
  • Nice to Have: Experience in the Product Management space, strong familiarity with SEO tools (Google Analytics, SEMrush, etc.), and the ability to interpret blog analytics to drive conversion.

The perks:

  • Remote First - our team works remotely across multiple countries and time zones
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage in the US - support for additional coverage is available in Spain
  • Company Team Offsites and Coworking - we believe that remote-first doesn’t mean remote-only
  • Free Product School Course Offerings - we offer a range of courses and certifications worth $15,000 that we readily encourage our employees to explore
  • Monthly Internet Reimbursement - we support our team, wherever they’re working from
  • Parental leave

We require that candidates be located in the country/countries specified. We are unable to hire outside of the country/countries specified or provide or take over sponsorship at this point in time.  Applicants MUST be authorized to work in the listed country of hire without sponsorship.

EEOC

At Product School, we don't just accept differences--we embrace, support, and celebrate the things that make each of us unique and benefit our employees, services, and community.
