Job description

Trusted is the leading digital labor marketplace and workforce management solution for the healthcare industry. We are headquartered in San Francisco but we’ve taken a digital-first approach to building our workforce and the majority of our team resides across the US and abroad.

Trusted was founded in 2017 with a focus on the largest profession in healthcare: nursing. Since then, we’ve taken a process dominated by recruiters and phone calls and converted it to a fully digital experience, connecting nurses directly to job opportunities and handling benefits, payroll, onboarding, and compliance. Our platform provides full employer of record services for employers in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

In 2020, we launched our proprietary staffing platform, Works. Works helps hospitals solve one of their biggest challenges: filling every shift in an environment where demand for healthcare services and labor costs are increasing exponentially. With Works, facilities can create their own on-demand nursing workforce and manage all the details from a single system. Using predictive insights and recommendations, Works helps hospitals react to fluctuations in demand, while its staffing marketplace creates competition to fill open job requisitions with high-quality, active talent.

Trusted has support from top institutional investors such as Craft Ventures, Felicis Ventures, StepStone Group, and Founder Collective, as well as healthcare innovators like Texas Medical Center, Mercy Health, Intermountain Ventures, Town Hall Ventures, and Healthbox. Most recently we closed a $149 million Series C round to fund our next stage of growth.

What we are looking for:

We’re seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer with a strong technical foundation in building and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure. You are highly proficient with Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform, Prometheus, and Grafana, and are comfortable scripting in Ruby. You’re passionate about improving developer workflows through robust Gitops-based CI/CD pipelines and have a proactive mindset for identifying and resolving bottlenecks to enhance operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is driven to create solutions that empower engineering teams to ship software quickly and confidently. You value engagement with peers and embrace shared ownership of tools and systems. If you’re excited to make an impact by enhancing infrastructure, observability, and developer experience, we’d love to hear from you!

Your responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance our hosting platform.
  • Optimize and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes and improve developer velocity.
  • Ensuring observability across critical infrastructure, monitoring, and troubleshooting production systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers and engineering managers to identify and implement solutions that improve system reliability velocity.

Who you are:

  • Problem-Solver: You are able to spot, diagnose, and resolve complex infrastructure and deployment issues efficiently.
  • Team Player: You work effectively with the EM and team members, contributing to shared ownership of tools and systems.
  • Proactive: You take initiative to identify and address system bottlenecks or inefficiencies without relying on external direction.
  • Detail-Oriented: You keep our systems consistent, and find ideal and well-polished solutions.
  • Engaged: You actively communicate with fellow engineers to understand their needs and provide solutions.
  • Security-Minded: You continuously enhance the security posture of infrastructure and tools.

You have:

  • 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a related field.
  • Vast experience with Kubernetes (EKS) for container orchestration and management.
  • Strong proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure-as-code.
  • Hands-on experience with modern tooling for observability and monitoring (nice to have: Prometheus / Grafana).
  • Proficient in scripting and automation with code. Familiarity or willingness to write and maintain Ruby scripts (we’re a Ruby/Rails shop).
  • Proven ability to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using concepts like Gitops (nice to have: ArgoCD).
  • Understanding of infrastructure security and compliance best practices.
  • Strong debugging skills in production environments.
  • Experience working with US companies is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • English fluency is required
