As a Junior Test Engineer, you will work closely with Software Developers, Product Owners, and business users in small, supportive Scrum teams. You will learn how to design, execute, and maintain test plans while ensuring our bespoke systems are reliable, secure, and high-performing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test Planning & Execution: Assist in creating and running manual and automated test plans for user interfaces (UI) and APIs.
  • Team Collaboration: Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, estimate testing efforts, and help identify and resolve issues.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Record and communicate test results, report bugs, and provide insights to improve our systems.
  • Learning & Growth: Maintain regression test packs and stay up to date with testing best practices and tools.

Requirements

Essential Skills

    • Familiarity with or interest in manual and automation testing (experience with tools like Selenium WebDriver is a plus).
    • Basic knowledge of coding or scripting languages such as C#, Java, or SQL.
    • An understanding of HTML/CSS and how websites work across different browsers and operating systems.
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to learning.
    • Interest in Agile/Lean methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills

    • An understanding of version control tools like Git.
    • Awareness of software security basics (e.g., OWASP Top 10).
    • Familiarity with Microsoft DevOps or similar tools.
    • ISTQB-BCS Certified Tester Foundation Level qualification (or willingness to achieve this with our support).
