SUMMARY
As an Engineering Manager at SQUIRE, you will build and lead a team of developers responsible for our core barber facing web platform, Commander - the backbone that empowers our customers to streamline their operations and grow their business.
You will collaborate closely with the Commander Product Manager to shape the product strategy and roadmap, ensuring the platform evolves to meet customer needs and aligns with overall business objectives. You will lead a talented engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and accountability.
As the Engineering Manager, you’ll oversee development processes, manage project delivery, and drive the technical direction of the admin platform. Your work will be essential in maintaining a scalable, reliable, and user-friendly product that supports business-critical operations for our customers.

Team Leadership
Lead and manage a team of highly skilled engineers, including distributed contract developers, ensuring alignment with the company’s technical vision and strategic goalsCultivate a high-performance engineering culture that emphasizes continuous improvement, open communication, and innovationPromote a culture of accountability and autonomy, ensuring team members clearly understand how their work aligns with and contributes to organizational goals
Technical Execution
Oversee the implementation of responsive web designs, ensuring compatibility across browsers, devices, and screen sizesLead the development and maintenance of the Commander web application, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performanceDefine and implement a strategic approach to prioritization, ensuring that work delivers the highest impact for users and the businessEnsure the team adheres to best practices in software development, architecture, and operational excellence
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other stakeholders to align technical capabilities with product vision and user experiencePartner with cross-functional teams to define clear acceptance criteria, delivery timelines, and post-launch success metricsAct as a technical liaison between the engineering team and executive leadership, providing regular updates on project progress and strategic recommendations.
Process Improvement & Innovation
