Job description

Want to be part of a hyper growth, fast paced, global business that is radically changing the decades old delivery universe as we know it?  If so, read on, as we’re looking for a n Electrical Engineer to join our Network Deployment team!

Our mission? To switch up the status quo and become the UK’s leading out-of-home business. With a fast-growing network of thousands of smart lockers, hundreds of leading retail partners and the launch of our InPost collection points, we’re bringing freedom to anyone with a parcel.

On our path to transforming e-commerce delivery in the UK, we’re building an unparalleled group of talent that’s hungry to help us disrupt the industry (find our 2023 annual report here). Our team is packed full of top-notch experts in e-commerce, technology, scale-up growth, sustainability, logistics and supply-chain. We’re a passionate bunch and expectations are high, but we’re team players – collaborating, supporting, and leaving egos at the door.

About the role ⚡🛠️

Be a part of InPost UK’s first internal field audit and installation team. We are seeking a skilled and reliable electrician to join our new team responsible for installing and auditing parcel lockers across the UK.

This role involves working closely with the InPost technical lead, deployment managers, and other technicians to audit our locker network across your region. In this on-the-road role, you will partner with 3rd party contractors and support a junior installations engineer to connect and test electrical systems for new and existing parcel lockers. You will play a pivotal role in delivering InPost’s commitment to high-quality and minimal down-time and be part of InPost’s founding internal electrical team.

📍We are hiring 2x roles in the North and South of England. A home base close to Heathrow (South) or Warrington (North) is required.

🚗 You will need a full, clean driver’s license and access to your own vehicle. A car allowance is included in the package. Mileage will be reimbursed.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Audit 3rd party work. Maintain accurate records of electrical work, including installation reports and testing results.
  • Install and wire electrical systems for parcel locker units, including power supply and network connections.
  • Follow blueprints and technical specifications to ensure the proper installation of electrical components.
  • Provide daily guidance and support to a junior installations engineer.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs as needed to ensure all systems are functioning correctly.
  • Ensure compliance with all local electrical codes and safety regulations.
  • Work with team members to ensure timely and efficient installation or audits of 3rd party contractors.
  • Conduct system tests to verify electrical connections, ensuring all locker systems are operational.
  • Provide support for ongoing maintenance and any electrical repairs post-installation.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are safely used and maintained.

What we need from you:

  • Self-Drive: You are enthusiastic with high integrity and focus on the quality execution of tasks. You don't get overwhelmed easily.
  • Natural curiosity: You're innovative and creative in your problem-solving and you constantly search for ways to review, refine and optimise systems and processes.
  • A team player: You're willing to help wherever needed, partnering with co-workers, junior team members and other departments to solve problems and provide guidance.
  • Bias towards action: You make things happen in a big way by unblocking bottlenecks and navigating ambiguity with logic, collaboration and ingenuity.
  • Excellent stakeholder management: You can build relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders with ease, get buy in and foster a one team culture.
  • Process driven: You have exceptional organisational skills; you are comfortable dealing with large quantities of data and have a logical way of expressing solutions.
  • Adaptability: You can work flexible hours and adapt to changing project timelines.

Technical skills required:

  • Valid electrician’s license or certification.
  • Proven experience as an electrician, particularly in commercial or industrial settings.
  • Familiarity with electrical wiring systems, troubleshooting techniques, and safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of local and national electrical codes.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical documents.
  • Experience with low-voltage and security systems is a plus.
