Job description

Job Summary::

DDC IT Services is seeking a Senior Tape Management Support individual to join their team. The qualified individual will write, alter, update, debug, and use IBM JCL to support storage management and storage management related activities. Active Secret Clearance and at least ONE IAT level I certification is required for this role. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: :
  • Locate, read, and interpret job and system task output to troubleshoot and resolve problems as well as capture dumps, terse the dump dataset, and transfer to vendor for analysis in problem solving.
  • Work independently, and conduct, document and present (written, orally) related research.
  • Document, implement and debug application and system software storage and backup requirements.
  • Research, evaluate, and document impacts and risks to changes requested before change implementations are performed.
  • Provide technical support in z/OS Mainframe system environment with expertise in DFSMS, DFHSM and other DASD Management tools.
  • Provide storage management services for DISA in the arena of a large z/OS Mainframe environment with particular emphasis on CA-1 tape management software, Luminex Channel Gateway and EMC Data Domain virtual tape systems, and Oracle automated tape library management hardware and software. The specific products that require this high level of support include Computer Associates 1 Tape Management system, Innovation Fast Dump Restore software, Integrated Access Management,  Fast Analysis of Tape Surfaces/Fast Analysis of Tape Recovery, SAS, REXX, DFSMS, DFHSM, and Oracle/STK products including Host Software Component, Virtual Tape Control System, Extended High Performance Data Mover, and Expert Library Manager.
  • Design, build, install and maintain systems for storage management of tape data using DFHSM, and related technologies in a mixed virtual and physical tape environment.
  • Ensure that files are defragmented, compressed and stored in an efficient fashion and in keeping with all DISA MLOB guidelines.
  • Plan, monitor, configure, document and maintain automated tape storage for IBM Mainframes.
  • Install, document and maintain software associated with operation of both virtual and physical tape storage subsystems for IBM Mainframes
  • Provide technical advice and consulting services during development of system interfaces and exits, responding to problems that arise during program testing and in production modes.
  • Use IBM z/OS and TSO/ISPF to access the IBM z/OS mainframe system.
  • Use SMP/E, to install and maintain software for execution in the IBM Mainframe platform, which includes the z/OS.
  • Perform IPLs.
Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience)::

IAT Level 1: Must possess one of the following required certifications

  • A+ CE
  • CCNA Security
  • Network +CE
  • SSCP

Clearance Required: Secret
