About the Team:
The Portfolio team is a cross-functional strategic arm of the business that serves to define, implement, and manage CookUnity’s best-in-class product offering and product strategy. Our mission is to provide our Eaters with a culinary destination for exploration and discovery, improving menu liquidity and retention in all markets.
The role:
As a Category Analyst at CookUnity, you will be crucial in driving our Premium Food Category performance by analyzing sales/revenue data, market trends, and consumer insights. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Menu Planning, Chef Success, and Supply chain, to optimize product assortment and ensure category growth. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional passionate about the food industry and data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Assortment Analysis: monitor and analyze category sales, AOV, Product Conversion, and customer behavior trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement. Evaluate the performance of existing products and recommend actionable insights to optimize category performance.
- Menu GAPs and Market Trend: Identify through different analyses (benchmark, market trend, user surveys) the main assortment of GAPs we have per category and propose new menu items to satisfy user's demands. Stay updated on emerging food trends to ensure the company leads the food innovation market.
- Product Portfolio Management: assist in curating and optimizing the product portfolio to align with business objectives and customer needs. Assist in defining menu targets and tracking achievement.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Data, Chef Success, Culinary Operations, Supply Chain, Menu Planning, and Marketing to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
- Data and Reporting: assist with regular reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) for category performance.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement category plans that align with company goals, focusing on profitability, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.
Minimum requirements:
- 2/3+ years of experience in CPG or DTC category management, product development, product innovation, or related field in the food industry. Experience working for a subscription business is a strong plus.
- Proven ability to analyze key drivers of revenue growth such as AOV, Revenue, customer cohorts, Product Conversion
- Demonstrated ability to manage and analyze large SKU portfolios (500+ SKUs) with precision and attention to detail.
- Advanced level in English with strong written and verbal communication skills is required
- Proficient in SQL (must pass a take-home test), and knowledge of Tableau
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or other related Good analytical skills and excellent user of Google Sheets/Excel
Preferred requirements:
- Strong communication and influencing skills, both verbal and written, as well as a collaborative mindset and approach to work
- Project Management: have worked on projects with due dates
- Preferred Experience and passion for the food industry
