Job Title: Podcast Editor
Location: Remote (PST/PHST Time Zone Overlap Preferred)
Salary Range: up to 1250 USD

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (PST/PHST), Flexible with some overlap between US PST and PHST hours; split shift possible for check-ins

Our client is a growing podcast production company specializing in business and technology content. They aim to produce high-quality podcasts that engage audiences and provide value to listeners while maintaining a streamlined production process.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Podcast Editor to join our growing podcast production company, specializing in business and technology content. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality audio delivery across multiple shows by editing remote-recorded video podcasts, mastering audio, and preparing files for video production. The ideal candidate is experienced in audio editing and mastering, with a strong understanding of remote recording dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:

Audio Editing and Mastering:

• Edit podcast episodes in tools like Audacity, Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, or Logic Pro.
• Clean up audio, perform noise reduction, and adjust compression and EQ to ensure professional quality.
• Master audio to balance levels between remote guests and ensure consistency.

Podcast Editing & Team Collaboration:

• Prepare XML files for video production and collaborate closely with the video editor.
• Podcast editing utilizing Descript.
• Review final video edits for quality assurance and ensure audio consistency.
• Manage and organize multiple podcast projects simultaneously.

Content Management:

• Assist with show notes creation using AI tools.
• Handle timestamp adjustments and provide accurate documentation for podcast episodes.

Quality Control and Innovation:

• Maintain high attention to detail, ensuring natural conversation flow and professional quality in all deliverables.
• Stay updated on industry best practices, tools, and trends to continually improve editing processes.

Skills & Qualifications:

Required:

• Proficiency in audio editing tools such as Audacity, Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, or Logic Pro.
• Strong understanding of audio mastering principles, including noise reduction, compression, and EQ.
• Experience working with remote-recorded podcast content.
• Familiarity with Google Drive and Slack for team collaboration.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines consistently.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience using Descript for podcast editing.
• Experience creating separate audio-only versions of video podcasts.
• Familiarity with AI tools and basic transcript management.
• Knowledge of project management tools like Airtable, Monday.com, or Asana.
• Understanding of video production workflows and file preparation.
• Previous experience working with business or technology-focused podcast content.
