Purpose and Scope of Position
The WDIS Business Data Analyst plays a crucial role in helping the organization make data-driven decisions. This position is influential in designing, developing, and maintaining ongoing metrics, reports, data mining, analyses, and dashboards that drive meaningful and prompt actionable insights.
Organizational Relationship
This position is an individual contributor to the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Consulting with executives and other business leaders to identify improvement opportunities
- Creating reports for internal teams, external clients and/or stakeholders
- Collaborating with team members to collect and analyze data
- Visualizing data with graphs, infographics and other methods
- Establishing KPIs to measure the effectiveness of business decisions
- Structuring large data sets to find usable information
- Crafting presentations and reports based on recommendations and findings
- Maintaining and evolving weekly and monthly reporting
Qualifications
Job Requirements
Basic Qualifications (i.e. education, certifications, etc…)
- Bachelor’s degree in business or computer science
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Experience
- Technical writing skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to set and meet deadlines
- Ability to work in high-pressure situations
- Experience with statistical software
- Data visualization and reporting skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to learn quickly
- Experience working with Power BI, preferred
- Experience working with insurance related data, preferred
Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift 15-lbs.
