Job Title:      BBQGuys Brand Manager 
Department: Marketing 
Reports to:   Director, Brand and Creative 
Location:      Remote

 Role Description:  

The Brand Manager, a mid-level manager, is eager to make outdoor living dreams a reality for our customers by driving BBQGuys overall brand experience including brand strategy, insights, promotions, and content creation. This individual will partner with the Director of Brand and Creative to build the strategy and manage delivery across the marketing and merchandising organization. Must be an action-oriented strategic thinker and doer; able to shift gears from a high-level strategic view to focus on the day-to-day details. You are an individual contributor without direct reports, but as a manager, you will be expected to manage agencies and mentor junior members across the organization.  

What You’ll Do:  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Be the single point-of-contact on all programs working with the creative team to prioritize opportunities and connect dots through discovery, development, delivery and sharing out the results of the campaign. 
  • Create action plans for identified targets of opportunity that clearly define objectives, goals, strategies, measures, schedules, and action assignments.
  • Work closely with the Director of Brand and Creative to drive execution of brand strategy projects including promotions, campaign, owned brand, and brand partners.
  • Work closely with Blaze Brand Manager (team member) to develop and implement a launch strategy and comprehensive consumer experience plan for BBQGuys. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionality to maintain brand positioning and equity across all materials including writing integrated agency briefs, drafting content, and giving direction on product detail pages, social posts, website, videos, and DTC material.
  • Partner with both internal and external Creatives, Creative Operations, and production teams to facilitate photo and video shoots, organizing the brief details and representing the brand on set.
  • Develop weekly/monthly/annual brand marketing strategies; monitor the performance of those strategies with Marketing, Merchandising, and Creative Operations to make necessary updates and improvements.
  • Stay up to date with the outdoor living, outdoor cooking, and outdoor kitchen markets that help to drive organizational activity to maintain market leadership and drive continuous growth.
  • Maintain the forecast and revenue delivery for the business’s product through monitoring performance and reporting to Leadership on the performance of brand marketing program initiatives, their progress, and results.
  • Conduct market research as needed to support the categories. Establish research objectives, author research briefs, and manage internal and external resources to conduct research and communicate results as needed.
  • Using existing tools and agency partners, identify ways to measure brand awareness/brand health to inform innovative ideas that will increase brand awareness and affinity.
  • Work with Category teams to pitch opportunities before handing over to operations to manage creative execution for our Premier Marketing Opportunity (PMO) partner program.
  • Work with Category teams on our strategy for our owned brands (i.e., BBQGuys Signature, Lakeview) and brand partners (i.e., Urban Bonfire, Polywood, Kalamazoo) to establish an innovation plans to fuel the future and work with creative and UX to deliver.
  • Travel may be required, up to 15%, for workshops, events, and creative productions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    • Experience wrangling cross-functional teams and managing outside agencies. Ability to delegate, inspire, and educate junior support staff.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally as a team within a matrixed organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience thriving in a sales-driven, fast-paced and self-starter environment.
  • Has integrity and can deliver on commitments and hold others to the same.
  • Openness to working flexible schedules occasionally to meet deadlines.

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Brand, or another applicable field.
  • Experience in e-commerce/retail is desired.
  • Five plus years of consumer brand management/marketing experience within a cross-functional organization/agency and two years managing/mentoring junior support.
  • Ability to operate in Microsoft Office; Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc., as well as other tools (Tableau, Jira, Brandfolder, Confluence) used across the company.
  • Experience with testing platforms with the ability to implement.
  • Experience with content development and go-to-market strategy is a plus.
