Job Description

As a key member of the central Solution Architecture organization within Prime Enterprise Architecture, the Solution Architect drives the development of architecturally significant solutions that deliver on critical business and technology outcomes. This role spans diverse projects, products, systems, shared infrastructure, and application services. By performing rigorous analysis and design, this position ensures all solutions align with business objectives and adhere to architecture governance and standards. The Solution Architect contributes to continuous improvement of the Solution Architecture practice and actively participates in the Community of Practice.

Responsibilities

  • Technology Research & Innovation:
    Research emerging technologies, trends, and disruptive practices relevant to your domain. Provide actionable insights to support innovation and drive business outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    Partner with business and IT stakeholders to identify opportunities for technology-enabled innovation and align solutions with strategic objectives.
  • Architectural Design:
    Translate business and technical requirements into architectural blueprints to achieve business objectives. Document and communicate all architecture design and analysis deliverables effectively.
  • Solution Development:
    Create and refine solution deliverables to guide the development of products, services, projects, and systems—including applications, technologies, processes, and information.
  • Governance & Standards:
    Develop, apply, and refine principles, standards, and patterns through the architecture assurance and governance model. Ensure all solutions adhere to established frameworks.
  • Current & Future State Modeling:
    Analyze and document the current, transition, and future states of architecture for  assigned areas. Identify and address critical deficiencies, technical debt, and legacy system challenges.
  • Technology Selection:
    Facilitate the evaluation and selection of software, technology products, and services. Provide guidance on standard and custom software configurations.
  • Collaboration with Enterprise Architecture:
    Partner with enterprise architects to develop reusable architecture artifacts and align solutions with enterprise strategy.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Actively contribute to evolving the Solution Architecture practice and participate in the Solution Architecture Community of Practice.
  • Other Responsibilities:
    Perform additional duties as assigned to meet organizational goals.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; HS diploma or GED is required
  • 5 years of related work experience in Business Analysis, System Design and Development, Systems Engineering, or technical architecture
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience in translating complex business requirements into practical technical solutions.
  • Experience in various software designs and languages.
  • Experience identifying and applying design patterns to solutions.
  • Experience in working with databases, APIs, and large-scale data processing.
  • Experience and knowledge of cloud computing. 
  • Strong business acumen and excellent communication skills for presenting ideas and achieving consensus.
  • Proficiency in modeling architectures using industry-standard tools like ArchiMate, Visio, or Miro.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and Product Delivery models.
  • Good knowledge of modern software engineering principles and best practices.
  • Solution definition and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledgeable about all phases of the software development life cycle and project management principles.
  • Familiarity with computer networks and IT security management.
  • Strong understanding of analytical skills and techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) or healthcare.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, PCI).
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
  • Knowledge of SAFe Agile Framework and TOGAF principles.
  • Exposure to artificial intelligence technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a self-learner

Reporting Structure: The role reports to Manager of IT

Potential pay for this position ranges from $108,000.00 - $184,000.00 based on experience and skills.
