Job description

Description of Work

Global Health Visions seeks a Senior Consultant to support a leading philanthropic organization in the next phase of developing and implementing relationships and partnerships that drive collective impact.

This consultant will serve as both a strategic partner and an executor. The consultant must excel at stakeholder engagement, project management, and cross-functional collaboration; possess deep experience in the philanthropy sector and possess demonstrable knowledge engaging with donors; and have a track record delivering results with precision and professionalism. The role involves research, analysis, strategy development, and operational execution, as well as acting as a proxy when needed. The consultant will play a key role in helping to shape philanthropic engagement and activation strategies, supporting high-impact partnerships, and managing cross-organizational initiatives. Work areas will include:

Research & Idea Generation

  • Conduct thorough research on philanthropic trends, donor initiatives, and key stakeholders to inform strategic engagement of client.
  • Synthesize complex information into actionable insights and recommendations that support the design and refinement of strategies for priority philanthropic stakeholders and platforms.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring and analysis of the philanthropic landscape, including identifying shifts, potential risks, and opportunities.

Strategy Development & Execution

  • Partner closely with the client to develop tailored strategies for high-priority relationships and philanthropic platforms.
  • Engage in thought partnership and translate strategic concepts into clear and actionable portfolio products and tools.
  • Draft comprehensive engagement and activation plans.
  • Coordinate across internal teams of client to ensure alignment of strategies with organizational goals.

Leadership Support

  • Serve as a trusted operational partner to client, ensuring effective preparation for internal coordination and external engagement.
  • Draft executive-level briefing materials, presentations, and other critical documents for internal and external use.
  • Act as a proxy for client, as needed, for internal meetings and select interactions with philanthropic partners and networks.

Portfolio & Project Management

  • Actively manage strategy through implementation, tracking and reporting progress and helping to adjust course as needed.
  • Maintain a system for regular updates on progress, significant developments, and outcomes related to key relationships and partnerships.
  • Serve as high functioning Project Manager for cross-organizational projects and working groups.

The scope of work for this client and portfolio will require knowledge of the philanthropy landscape and the ability to think strategically and respond to the client's needs while providing recommendations to increase impact and outcomes. Specific skills and qualifications include:

  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in philanthropy, nonprofit leadership, or management consulting role involving senior leaders and high net worth individuals.
  • Sector knowledge required, including one or more of the following:
    • Prior direct experience in philanthropic organizations or family offices.
    • Experience working in or with philanthropic networks, grantmaking organizations, or large-scale partnerships.
    • Familiarity with major philanthropic stakeholders, networks, and platforms and their operating dynamics.
  • Research & Analysis: Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a track record of translating complex information into actionable strategies.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting executive-level materials.
  • Ambiguity: Proven ability to manage complex projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and influence others.
  • Adaptability: Comfort working independently in a fast-paced, fluid environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities to deadline.
  • Commitment to Purpose: Enthusiasm for philanthropy, with a commitment to advancing social progress and impact.
  • Flexibility: Ability to travel occasionally, as required.


Time Requirement + Location

  • Full time (40 hours per week) 1099 role for 12-months, with potential for extension based on performance and organizational needs.
  • US-based remote, with occasional travel as needed.
  • Rate range: $850 – $1,050/day
