  • Proactively identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and implement solutions to achieve project and organisational goals.
  • Collaborate with creative leadership, project management, and discipline leads to align technical goals with creative and budgetary objectives.
  • Provide technical direction on tools, workflows, and pipelines, driving continuous improvement across the studio.
  • Mentor and develop engineering leads and team members, fostering a culture of growth, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Partner with external clients and stakeholders to manage feedback, ensure alignment, and deliver exceptional results.
  • Oversee technical planning and resource allocation, balancing business priorities with team needs.
  • Represent the studio’s technical capabilities in meetings with clients, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, driving innovation and adopting emerging technologies to enhance studio capabilities.
  • Support Unreal project teams with individual contributor work as required.

  • Requirements
  • Proven experience leading multiple technical teams concurrently through all phases of project development, from concept to delivery.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of best practices, tools and processes used within Unreal.
  • A strong knowledge of systems, frameworks and optimisation techniques within Unreal.
  • Expertise in designing and optimising tools, workflows, and pipelines to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a passion for mentoring, guiding, and growing engineering talent.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to risk identification and resolution.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of tailoring messaging to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working with external clients and managing complex feedback processes to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Familiarity with outsourcing processes and collaboration with external vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance client, project, and organisational priorities effectively.
  • Passion for innovation, continuous learning, and staying ahead of industry trends.
