Job description

This is a remote position.

Our client is looking for a seasoned HR Specialist with at least 15 years of experience in the clearing and forwarding industry to assist with HR due diligence for an acquisition project. The HR Specialist will help assess the workforce structure, evaluate employee compensation and benefits, and identify potential risks in HR practices. This is a fully-remote, flexible, independent contracting role that offers 4 to 8 hours of work per day, with the flexibility to work during hours that best suit you. With a minimum of 15 years of experience in HR management, particularly within the logistics or clearing and forwarding industry, the ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive HR review to identify operational gaps and recommend necessary improvements. This role is remote, and the candidate will work collaboratively with the legal and finance teams.


Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a thorough review of the company’s workforce, including organizational structure, employee contracts, compensation, and benefits.
  • Evaluate the current HR policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with local and international labor laws.
  • Assess potential risks in employee relations, compensation practices, and organisational structure.
  • Provide strategic advice on HR practices and potential improvements to reduce operational risks.
  • Collaborate with the finance and legal teams to provide a holistic view of the business’s HR operations.
  • Support the creation of any post-acquisition HR integration plans and processes.



Requirements
  • At least 15 years of experience in human resources, with a focus on the clearing and forwarding or logistics sectors (non-negotiable).
  • Strong knowledge of labour laws, compensation structures, and HR best practices.
  • Experience in managing organisational change, employee relations, and compliance within the industry.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and offer strategic recommendations for HR improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Remote working capability and strong collaborative team player.
