Research Governance Officer

12-month fixed-term 0.6 FTE contract with ongoing opportunity

Cabrini Malvern (154 Wattletree Road)

Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free each year, plus $2650 meal & entertainment card benefits

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Research Governance Officer to join our team. This role supports Cabrini Research and Research Governance team through the provision of confidential administrative and operational services to facilitate research. The position reports to the Research Governance Manager. 

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with opportunity to convert to an ongoing role subject to satisfactory performance. The role is structured to support work from home consistent with Cabrini policy and practice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Process research applications requiring site-specific governance or lower risk ethical review

  • Supports efforts to provide education in research ethics and governance best practice by contributing towards the development, distribution and consistent delivery of documented systems, processes and policies.

  • Serving as a subject matter expert in research ethics and governance by maintaining contemporary knowledge of national and jurisdictional research ethics guidelines and frameworks, privacy legislation and organisational policies.

  • Supporting organisational compliance with the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework

About you

The successful applicant will bring knowledge and relevant experience and to excel in this role supporting and promoting Cabrini Research.

You will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in research ethics / governance / administration or related field and/or equivalent experience in a research adjacent role management skills including data cleansing and data aggregation

  • Relevant experience in research ethics / governance / administration, along with proven critical thinking and analysis skills, effective clerical duties, including filing and document preparation with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Knowledge of all research ethics and governance relevant guidelines and legislation
