Maxar Space is seeking a Senior Information Systems Security Engineer to join our team in Westminster, CO. This position may also be performed remotely within the United States. In this role, you will interact with systems and software engineers, integration and test specialists, and others to manage information security and assurance activities. Successful execution of this role will combine cyber security principles, DoD Information Assurance tasks, and unwavering dedication to team excellence.  In this role, you will work in an Agile Scrum environment alongside cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:
Perform system and program security assessments, control implementation reviews, and mitigation plans.

  • Be involved with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and its application for Maxar programs.
  • Analyze and resolve INFOSEC technical problems. Configure testbeds and conduct testing, records and analyze results, and provide recommendations for improvements for the products/systems under test.
  • Develop and maintain full lifecycle Assessment and Authorization (A&A) deliverables, Security Control Traceability Matrix (SCTM) and Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM).
  • Configuration Control to include software/hardware authorizations, network configuration changes, and system security engineering.
  • Maintain day-to-day security posture and continuous monitoring of Information Systems including security event log review and analysis.
  • Perform system hardening in accordance with recognized standards, such as DISA STIGS, CIS, etc.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business or related scientific or technical discipline. An additional four years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • 8 years experience in information systems, cyber security, space systems, or related security disciplines.
  • Experience developing and implementing security controls for commercial, international and/or U.S. government programs
  • Experience working with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) cybersecurity standards (NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CISSP, CISA, CISM
  • Experience working on UNIX/Linux platforms and TCP/IP security
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Effectively work in a fast-paced operations support environment as part of an Agile Scrum team

Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.

● The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $119,000.00 - $199,000.00 annually.
● The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $131,000.00 - $219,000.00 annually.
● The base pay for this position within California is: $137,000.00 - $229,000.00 annually.

For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
