Responsibilities
As a member of an integrated project team providing enterprise system and mobile application cloud support, the Cloud Systems Administrator is responsible for managing the instances of the Cloud infrastructure services and instances; overseeing and maintaining a multiuser computing environment – being mindful of cost-effective ways to fulfill technical requirements. Working with minimal supervision, you will be responsible for designing, developing, configuring, implementing, and managing the systems that make up the underlying cloud environment/platform and the tools and automations used and created to support the platform. You will often be the go-to personnel to resolve and provide any assistance about system problems. Occasional on-call support required for after-hours, holiday, and weekends.
Additional job duties and activities include:
- Implementing, communicating (for approval and awareness), and verifying cloud architecture and administration processes compliant with client policy, governance, and specifications
- Upholding and enhancing existing methodologies to reliably carryout your duties
- Developing and supporting innovative solutions to complex problems and automating routine and other burdensome activities
- Timely implementation of security configurations, patching, and other updates
- Integrate and implement approved new technologies; documenting where and as required
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ recent experience configuring and administering cloud environments and tools
- A Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field OR a total of 13 years’ relevant professional experience in lieu of BS degree
- Defining secure-based cloud architecture while adhering to development methodologies, engineering, and cloud standards
- Providing detailed guidance to engineering team members creating administrative processes and procedures
- Experience administering an AWS environment
- Supporting enterprise tools, services, and applications in a cloud environment
- Performing operational and day-to-day administrative support functions, including troubleshooting issues and support of change and problem management processes using Atlassian: Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Crowd
- Developing, deploying, and troubleshooting IAC environments using AWS kubectl and HashiCorp Terraform
- Working within multiple Cloud Service Providers; e.g., AWS GovCloud, AWS Commercial, and Azure
- Ability to support cybersecurity teams in conducting a security analysis and assessment of current processes and platforms and generate ad-hoc reports and guidance for team members or management
- Ability to design solutions and recommend the most suitable design packages to improve current administrative security levels and performance
- Identifying, tracking, remediating and documenting software, networking, and hardware vulnerabilities for-and-with the engineering, development, and cybersecurity teams
- Professional verbal and written communications skills that clearly, concisely, and properly conveys information the first time – thereby successfully avoiding miscommunications and/or providing inadequate information, reports, deliverables, and responses
Education/Certification Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field OR a total of 13 years’ relevant professional experience in lieu of BS degree
Preferred Requirements
- Active Directory, Office 365, and other Windows-based technologies experience
- Ability to configure VMs, containers, and Web Applications
- Experience with administering Linux, Windows Server, Kubernetes, Elastic Search, Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus, Kiali, Hashi Corp Consul, and Hashi Corp Vault
- Experience with Python, Bash, Shell, Java, Go, and PowerShell
- Experience with Azure administration
- Relevant industry certification is desirable but not required
Clearance Requirements
