People Partner Lead /HRBP (Contract)
Are you a seasoned People Partner (HRBP) who would like to play an integral part in scaling an incredibly successful SaaS start-up? As our People Partner Lead at TheyDo, you would wear multiple hats, partnering closely with our leadership team. This is a parental leave contractual role, until January ‘26.
TheyDo is a fully remote SaaS B2B organisation, pioneering a brand new category in software: Customer Journey Management. In March 2024 we secured our latest funding round, at US$34 million. We were honoured to win two of Remote’s employer awards, for ‘Excellence in Remote Work Culture’ and ‘Liftoff Award for Startups’.
Our angel investors include executives from Intercom, Miro, and Calendly. We serve enterprise customers such as Siemens, Pfizer and Ford. We’re currently a small but mighty team of eighty five, growing sustainably. We are primarily based in Europe, with a dozen team members in North America. The majority of our team is hired via Remote, with one legal entity in the Netherlands.
What you’ll do
Act as line manager for our Senior People Operations Specialist, who manages our full employee lifecycle, as well as benefits and perks. This includes providing back-up support/coverage during PTO/absence.
Provide strategic and tactical business partnership to our people leaders and Co-Founders, across all technical, GTM and business functions.
Provide regular guidance/coaching on topics such as; compensation, performance, promotions, morale, employee well-being and organisational design.
Provide support to our individual contributors on topics related to employee relations, acting as a neutral point of contact to ensure a fair outcome.
Build upon our learning & development strategy e.g. in-house/external soft skills development, levelling, growth plans, mentoring programs etc.
Own our strategy on total rewards - cash, equity and benefits.
Drive a performance based culture, running cyclical programs such as company wide engagement, performance reviews and our annual compensation cycle.
Run exit interviews, to uncover insights and consider opportunities for improvement.
Continuously automate and ensure that as a lean team we’re efficient handling people topics and queries.
Partner with our Head of Finance to support business structure and workforce planning, ensuring People Team practices support strategic goals and a scalable, sustainable organisation.
What you won’t do
Get hands-on involved in talent acquisition - we have talented team members who specialise in scaling our business.
Build/manage our employee database using spreadsheets. We use tools such as Humaans (HRIS), Remote (EOR), Ledgy (equity management) and Culture Amp (performance/engagement).
Payroll - we’ve got that covered. 👌
What we’re looking for
A minimum of eight years experience in HR, including four years as a Senior, Principal or Lead People Partner (HRBP) at a fast growing SaaS organisation.
Direct experience within or overseeing people operations.
A minimum of one year's experience as a line manager/people leader.
At least two years experience in a hybrid or preferably fully remote environment.
Experience in learning & development and total rewards.
Experience driving effective change management with complexity.
Third level education in Human Resources (degree, masters or post grad).
Exceptional knowledge of employee legislation in at least one European country (Dutch and/or US labour law knowledge is a distinct advantage).
Significant experience in handling performance and/or behavioural concerns or grievances - you follow the law and always lead with empathy.
A naturally driven individual who thrives on autonomy, being organised, and is comfortable with some ambiguity given that we’re a start-up.
Strong and authentic communicator, with a high attention to detail (diligence).
Emotional intelligence, empathy and a natural desire to problem solve. You genuinely care about people, and building an equitable people driven organisation.
Digitally savvy: confident using Google Sheets/Slides and HRIS systems. Experience using Notion, an equity management tool such as Ledgy and/or a performance management tool such as Culture Amp is preferred.
Coachable: you see 360 degree feedback as a gift (positive/constructive) and act on it.
