Our ideal candidate:

We are seeking an ambitious and strategic Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive growth and expand our footprint in the Biotech, Medical Devices, Digital Therapeutics, and Pharma industries. Partnering closely with our CEO, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, targeting, and engaging high-value opportunities. Your expertise in business development will help shape the future of our organization and bring meaningful impact to the healthcare landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Generation and Sales Strategy

  • Own the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to deal closure, collaborating with uMed’s growth team to identify and qualify high-potential prospects.
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to acquire new leads and optimize conversion rates through refined messaging and materials.
  • Take proactive steps to nurture relationships with prospects, ensuring consistent engagement and high-quality meetings.

Collaboration and Pipeline Management

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to maintain a robust and thriving sales pipeline.
  • Accurately record customer interactions in our CRM system (PipeDrive) and provide weekly forecasts to track progress.
  • Continuously refine the prospecting process, ensuring our approach and resources remain cutting-edge and effective.

Industry Engagement and Market Insights

  • Represent uMed at industry conferences and events, building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Gather and share valuable market and prospect feedback with commercial, operations, and tech teams to support ongoing product development and innovation.

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • A background or qualification in Life Sciences, Commercial, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in SaaS or service sales, particularly within life science organizations.
  • A track record of generating high-quality leads and securing meaningful client meetings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial approach to building relationships and driving opportunities through the sales funnel.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Deep understanding of customer needs in the healthcare industry, spanning commercial and academic sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding monthly meeting targets.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Familiarity with clinical trial recruitment services or products.
  • An established network of contacts in clinical trial recruitment.
