Summary:

Reporting into the CHRO, the VP, Talent Growth will lead the design and delivery of development programs that create meaningful career opportunities for D-Wave’s employees while building a diverse pipeline of future leaders. The successful candidate will have a track record of designing holistic, inclusive talent development strategies that align to the company’s internal culture and values and accelerate business performance. This leader will possess strong executive presence and relationship building skills to influence programs adoption rates.
 
With D-Wave establishing a stronger presence in EMEA, the role will also serve as the lead HR Operations for the region working closely with the VP, Global Operation Standards. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: Internal Market Place
  • Create an internal talent marketplace that match projects and initiatives with the best internal talent, helping leaders shift from a job mindset to a project mindset philosophy and orientation.
  • Define an internal mobility program that support short-term and long-term mobility options.
  • Partner with Total Rewards, HRBPs, and functional leaders to ensure the current job hierarchy, career paths, performance measurements, and rewards system can support the adoption of an internal talent marketplace.
  • Conduct skills gap analyses to identify development opportunities to build into D-Wave’s Workforce Talent Forecast and Talent Plan.

  • Development Programs:
  • Build global talent enablement and development programs aligned to the company’s strategy and talent growth and retention goals.
  • Lead modifications to the performance management program to ensure it maintains a focus on the core values of continuous learning and employee development while establishing a baseline for KPIs and pay-for-performance philosophy.
  • Design a global framework for talent calibration and succession planning, including calendar timeline for implementation and governance.
  • Design and deliver employee learning paths to support employee growth.
  • Work closely with IT/Tech teams to assess and recommend talent development technology applications and platforms, including use of AI, to enable productivity improvements and a strong employee experience.

  • Culture:
  • Partner closely with leaders and functional teams across D-Wave to refine the purpose, values, and goals of D-Wave’s talent management and engagement strategy serving as the basis for alignment of talent practices and business vision, communicating the company’s employer brand, and attracting and retaining the best talent for D-Wave.
  • Build innovative programs that drive effective remote and in-person teaming.
  • Design and implement effective mentoring, sponsorship and coaching programs.
  • Define metrics to evaluate the impact and success of talent development programs and adjust strategy based on results.

  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 15+ years of experience in a senior human resources L&D role or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of people management and HR operation experience.
  • Deep understanding of roles and responsibilities in Engineering, Sales and Corporate functions (HR, IT, Finance/Accounting) in relevant technology-based enterprises.
  • Professional executive coaching certification.
