Job Description:
As an Engineering Solutions & Support Engineer specializing in Primary Storage & Private Cloud (PCBe) at HPE, you will serve as an expert responsible for delivering and engineering support solutions for HPE's storage and cloud technologies. This includes not only block storage systems like Alletra MP but also ProLiant servers, networking infrastructures and hypervisors.
The critical role involves not only resolving complex customer issues but also contributing to implementation of proactive support strategies. You will need to be available for standby and after-hours work to ensure seamless resolution of issues. Collaborating closely with peers, partners, and managers, you will drive issues to completion, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
How you will make your mark:
- Technical Troubleshooting: Deliver the highest level of technical troubleshooting to resolve the most complex issues applying a solution focused and customer centric mindset.
- Collaboration: Work closely with hubs, centers, and development teams to reproduce complex issues.
- Communication: Effectively communicate strategic and tactical process decisions, project statuses, issues, and workarounds.
- Risk Management: Help analyze and quantify risks and develop and document risk mitigation plans.
- Process Adherence: Follow support processes that align with business needs and maintain comprehensive process documentation.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Utilize your knowledge to solve business issues and engage other subject matter experts when necessary.
- Issue Escalation: Handle or properly escalate unique and complex situations as needed.
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Typically, 2-4 years of experience in block storage solutions, Linux, networking, and compute environments.
- KVM experience is a plus
- VMware Knowledge is a plus
- ITIL experience is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to effectively interact and interface with various levels of management and internal/external customers.
- Analytical Thinking: Robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities to navigate complex technical challenges.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Business Acumen: Ability to manage difficult and complex business situations or properly escalate them when needed.
- Teamwork: Proactive, productive, and flexible team member capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
