The Role

The Director of IT & Digital Technology is accountable for business relationship management across Genmab's functional teams in the EU and will collaborate closely with global collaborators. In this role you will be responsible for the strategy, development, expansion, and support of cross-functional business applications that are used by the EU team.

At Genmab, IT operates on a product-based delivery model; you (Director of IT & Digital Technology) will work closely with the other members of the IT Leadership Team to develop IT & Digital products and services that enable the local business teams to connect seamlessly with the global organization.

The role will report to the VP, Global Digital Products, Commercialization, and Enabling Functions.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and cultivate effective business relationships with local collaborators to ensure IT delivers solutions aligned with business strategies.
  • Drive the development and vision of IT strategies for business functions in partnership with business collaborators and IT peers.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for IT, addressing new demands and handling escalations for operational issues.
  • Coach the business on IT services and capabilities, promote enterprise IT strategy, platforms, and services, and facilitate IT change and communication management across assigned business functions.
  • Develop business cases for future programs and projects that align with regional and global strategies, helping business teams realize short- and long-term benefits from technological investments.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of relevant business processes and enabling technologies within the business domains.
  • Educate your colleagues on IT processes, security, and GxP (Good Practice) requirements to ensure compliance with global standards.
  • Maintain relationships with both local and global vendors as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as an IT team leader implementing and operating Commercial systems in the EU market, in IT consulting, or a similar role.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry; knowledge of the pharmaceutical commercial domain in the EU market is required.
  • Proven understanding of best practices with CRM systems such as Veeva, data management, and analytics
  • Strong knowledge of business models, operating models, financial models, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Familiarity with GxP compliance and European Data Privacy regulations, including GDPR, is a plus.
  • Experience with structured Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Ability to elicit complex business requirements from both small and large audiences, including business and IT professionals.
  • Proficiency with Office tools, mobile apps, and other IT capabilities expected in a senior IT role.
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong leadership and influencing abilities.
  • Excellent investigative and technical skills.
  • Proficiency in English, as it is the global language for Genmab.
