Job description

About Patra

Patra Corporation is the worldwide leader in insurance back-office and account management business process outsourcing. Patra offers a wide range of services designed to lower costs, reduce risk and improve employee productivity through the transfer of account management and business support functions, such as policy checking, certificate issuance, eligibility processing, quality control and account audits, to operation centers in the US, India, and the Philippines.

Core Duties

As Patra’s Vice President of Product Management for Service Line Portfolio, you and your small team will be responsible for leading the company’s efforts to envision, define, build and launch new and enhanced services and service lines that will help fuel the next phase of Patra’s growth and profitability.

VISION + DIRECTION: You will play a senior and crucial role in the definition of a product vision and direction for Patra’s full portfolio of service lines and services for the insurance industry. You will develop and maintain a deep understanding of our market and market trends: our current and prospective customers, our competitors, and activity among InsurTechs and other players in the insurance ecosystem. You will become an expert in Patra’s existing service offerings - the processes themselves, and the operational and technical infrastructure that enable them. You will engage with stakeholders within and outside of Patra to understand strengths and weaknesses in our current offering, and to identify opportunities to enhance or expand that offering over time. You will regularly engage with senior leaders and the board of directors as you work to align our services portfolio direction with company strategy and direction.

ROADMAP: You will use all these market and product insights to build and maintain a roadmap for Patra’s portfolio of services. You will build business cases for new initiatives, working with sales, operations, and finance partners to model the comprehensive benefits and costs of each prospective initiative. You will use this business case data to set priorities and shape product roadmaps with input from executives and key stakeholders.

DEFINE & BUILD: You and your team will also drive the definition and implementation of individual initiatives on this roadmap, as they proceed through the full product lifecycle. This will involve close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders including sales, operations and finance. As a senior product leader, you’ll be responsible for defining and refining the processes and frameworks that you and your team use to perform your product responsibilities. And you’ll also coach and lead your team as they execute this work for specific initiatives. You will engage sales and customer design partners to define requirements and direction of new/improves services. You will then engage with operations and finance to determine staffing, process and costs involved in future service delivery. And you will work with finance and the company’s pricing/commercial committee to establish pricing and target margins for new or relaunched services. You and your team will create artifacts, manage backlogs, drive/support working sessions, etc., to ensure successfully delivery and ongoing support of the service you’re focused on.

APPLICATION OF TECH: While this role is not focused on building technology, the new/relaunched services may involve the application of technology to enable the services being built/relaunched. This technology may be Patra’s proprietary technology (delivered by product management colleagues), or may be partner technology that Patra licenses or buys. You are your team will help assess partner technology, model costs/profitability taking this technology into account, and engage other stakeholders in these assessments. As Patra rolls out new proprietary technology in support of specific services, your team will be involved in defining and launching these services.

GTM: As we prepare to launch new and enhanced services, you and your team will collaborate with product operations and a broad set of stakeholders to ensure successful go to market planning and execution. This will involve regular engagement with sales, marketing, training, operations, finance and other teams to ensure a successful launch and adoption of the new offerings. After launch, you will support GTM efforts to drive sales and adoption of these services.
