Day To Day
You need to have at least 5 years of experience with a strong understanding of data visualization best practices and techniques using Power BI with more focus on Power BI Premium + maintaining the PowerBI Premium Platform within an enterprise organization.
- It would be nice to have 2+ years of experience in Azure products and development, preferably with a focus on data platforms.
You need to know how the Azure Cloud works conceptually and practically. You need to have the ‘hands-on’ experience for troubleshooting in the cloud, support on Azure Portal as well as on Azure DevOps

Essentials
Essential knowledge of the following components:
- Power BI Premium Platform
- You need to have extensive knowledge of how to configure multiple workspaces within an enterprise organization.
- You know how to troubleshoot technical challenges in the Power BI ecosystem for our stakeholders.
- You are the go-to person who knows all the ins & outs of the platform.
- You’re a great teacher for others on how the platform should work and provide learning on the job for them.
- You have a clear vision of how to mature the platform to the next level using the latest technologies and insights to prevent downtime in the platform when the usage grows.
- Power BI Premium Community
- You will be the central point of contact for requests from stakeholders, regarding functionalities of the PowerBI Premium tool.
- You need to support teams with their PowerBI questions on reporting, dashboarding and troubleshooting on their environment.
- Power BI Platform Governance
- You know how to secure the platform, to implement segregation of duties, to prevent Data Leakage, to enable granular access so users only access the workspace/datasets/dashboards they are allowed to access on enterprise level.
- Experience with BI related test methodologies
- Clear understanding on how to implement governance in an enterprise organization with focus on automation, metadata and centralization instead of manual interventions.
- You know how to implement a Centre of Excellence, get stakeholders involved and provide a centralized knowledge base
Extras - Azure SQL:
- You need to have minimal Azure SQL (Synapse DWH/DB) experience, to be able to write queries, create/update tables and stored procedures.
- Azure Security
- Security is an important topic for the platform, so you need to be sure that you don’t give too much access to teams on the platform
- You need to understand how RBAC/ACL/RLS and underlying access works within Azure.
- Azure DevOps
- You need to know how to work with the Sprint boards / Backlogs.
- You need to know how you can create and maintain build & release pipelines, and how to work with variable groups.
