The Role

We are looking for a passionate DataOps Engineer to join our team and help enhance our data capabilities. In this role, you will play a key part in monitoring and maintaining our SQL Server instances, supporting other engineers and teams with data-related inquiries, and contributing to the development of a new data platform for internal reporting and metrics. You will have the chance to work with cutting-edge AWS tools and services to drive innovation and excellence. This position involves working on a wide range of projects, from short-term tasks to large, multi-month initiatives. Additionally, you will provide support for legacy applications to both customers and internal stakeholders. As part of a cross-functional, Agile team, you will collaborate closely with other engineers in an environment that values open communication and collective decision-making on technical matters.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor and maintain SQL Server instances, ensuring data integrity and system performance.
  • Assist engineering teams and other departments with data-related inquiries and technical support.
  • Contribute to the development and deployment of a new data platform for internal reporting and metrics.
  • Leverage AWS tools and services to optimize data infrastructure, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
  • Execute on data projects, from short-term tasks to long-term initiatives, ensuring successful completion.
  • Provide ongoing support for legacy applications, troubleshooting issues for customers and internal stakeholders.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Three or more (3+) years’ experience in data architecture and building data pipelines.
  • Higher education in IT/Engineering or equivalent through experience.
  • Passion for quality and attention to detail.
  • Innovative mindset and eagerness to learn.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to determine the right technology to solve a specific challenge (streaming data, batch, storage alternatives, security, etc.).
  • Ability to choose the right data stores/data processing for the job (streaming, batch, relational, NoSQL, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on results.
  • Punctual and able to manage stress effectively,
  • English fluency; knowledge of French/Dutch an asset.
