Director of Product
Role Overview
As the Director of Product, you will spearhead product strategy, roadmap development, and execution. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, marketing, and beyond) to deliver secure, seamless, and scalable payment solutions. You’ll play a key part in shaping the product vision to meet customer needs, achieve business goals, and maintain a competitive edge in the ever-evolving payments landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Product Vision & Strategy
Define and own the product vision in alignment with the company’s broader mission and objectives.
Monitor market trends, gather customer feedback, and assess competitive landscapes to identify strategic growth opportunities.
Roadmap Development
Build and manage a comprehensive product roadmap, ensuring timely delivery of features and enhancements.
Prioritize product initiatives based on business impact, user needs, and technical feasibility.
Customer-Centric Approach
Engage with users, partners, and stakeholders to fully understand their pain points and opportunities.
Advocate for end-users by integrating their feedback into product development cycles.

Compliance & Security
Stakeholder Communication
Present product updates, strategy, and progress to executive leadership and board members.
Communicate effectively with external partners, clients, and investors when needed.
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing product management team.
Foster close collaboration among design, engineering, marketing, sales, and customer success teams.
Recruitment & Team Building
Develop the hiring strategy for the product organization, identifying skill gaps and recruiting top talent.
Participate in candidate interviews, selection, and the creation of onboarding plans.
Cultivate a collaborative and high-achieving team culture.
Requirements
Proven track record as a Director of Product, VP of Product, or similar leadership role in fintech, payments, or SaaS.
In-depth understanding of the payments ecosystem (e.g., APIs, gateways, processors, compliance).
Experience scaling products in a fast-paced startup environment.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Hands-on experience with product management tools (e.g., Linear, Jira) and analytics platforms.
Analytical mindset with a strong customer-first approach to problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
Background in payment solutions or related technologies.
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as PCI DSS, PSD2, or GDPR.
Technical foundation in software engineering or computer science is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $190k – $230k USD + equity + benefits

Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The numbers above represent the target range for new hires in the San Francisco area. Individual pay is based on your location, relevant experience, and educational background.
