Job description

About the role/Responsibilities
The Performance Analysis team has pinpointed key SEO (search engine optimization) enhancements for the great.gov.uk website, encompassing both technical and content-related improvements. Presently, our team lacks the capacity and expertise to collaborate with developers in transforming our analysis into actionable recommendations, executing necessary website changes in conjunction with developers, and identifying additional opportunities for SEO enhancements. As a result, we are seeking a qualified individual to fill a crucial role in bridging this gap and ensuring the effective implementation of SEO strategies to enhance the website's overall performance.

What you’ll be doing
We are seeking a skilled Performance Analyst to undertake the following responsibilities:
  1. Dashboard Migration: Transfer Export and Investment dashboards from Universal Analytics to Google Analytics 4 using QuickSight. The priority order for migration includes:
    1. Export Opportunities dashboard
    2. Export Academy dashboard
    3. Learn to Export dashboard
    4. Great homepage dashboard
    5. Business Profile dashboard
    6. Microsites
    7. Explore migration of Trading Environment dashboards if time permits.
  2. Adherence to Standards: Follow the guidelines and standards established by the Performance Analysis team during the dashboard migration process. This includes defining calculations and metrics according to established protocols.
  3. Documentation: Record each visual and underlying calculation (calculated fields) in a dedicated dashboard audit spreadsheet during the migration process. Identify instances where a visual may not be applicable and cross-reference with the existing dashboard audit.
  4. Data Validation: Compare figures on migrated dashboards against Google Analytics 4 figures reported in the GA interface.
  5. Discrepancy Analysis: Conduct a thorough comparison of figures between Universal Analytics and GA4, documenting any discrepancies or differences in the audit spreadsheet. Provide clear explanations for identified disparities.
Key Deliverables:
  • Migration of at least the top 5 specified dashboards from Universal Analytics to Google Analytics 4 using QuickSight.
  • A comprehensive audit trail in the form of an Excel spreadsheet, detailing recorded calculations and comparisons.
  • Collaboration with the Performance Analysis team by sharing insights, including any learnings on Universal Analytics vs. GA4 data discrepancies.
About you/Experience
• Demonstrated proficiency and substantial experience with Universal Analytics, Google Analytics 4 data, and Big Query.
• Proven experience in constructing dashboards, preferably utilizing Google Analytics data and Amazon QuickSight. Familiarity with other dashboarding software such as PowerBI or Looker is also advantageous.
• Possession of SC clearance.
• Ability to effectively communicate intricate technical concepts in a manner that is both understandable and actionable.
