Job Purpose
Reporting to the Sr. SCADA Engineer, the SCADA Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and upgrading SCADA and plant control systems for PV and wind projects. The SCADA Engineer will support greenfield project design and commissioning by third parties, provide hands-on support for recently commissioned projects, support Longroad Enterprise SCADA, and support upgrades of older operating projects. This includes coordinating with OEM SCADA providers for changes, upgrades, and testing as well as supporting vendor-based SCADA systems for troubleshooting and maintenance. In addition, the SCADA Engineer will provide critical support to a broad and diverse customer base, from EPC vendors, O&M technicians, regulatory agencies, utility off-takers, and other internal stakeholders. Ideal candidate would be located in Arizona; however, remote candidates will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Support greenfield commissioning
- Review drawing sets, participate in weekly meetings
- Perform Owner’s SCADA integration
- Perform field verification and validation
- Perform Longroad Enterprise Ignition SCADA integration
- Manage existing fleet Support & maintain project level & Owner's SCADA
- Support & maintain Longroad SCADA
- Support IED telemetry troubleshooting, remotely and in the field
- Test, rollout, and support SCADA & IED upgrades and patches
- Support & maintain drawings, configurations, and asset inventory
- Coordinate with IT & ROC for firewall changes and telemetry outages
- Support metadata, UDT, and templatization processes
Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in SCADA & Automation with a focus on SCADA integration
- 4+ years of experience with Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA (Core Certification preferred)
- Deep knowledge of industry standard protocols including Modbus (RTU & TCP), DNP3, OPC DA, OPC UA, IEC 61850, ICCP, and MQTT
- Experience working with SEL RTAC, SEL relays, SEL Axion PLC’s, and other IED technologies
- Experience working with Python, Ladder Logic, FBD & Structured Text.
- Familiarity of SQL and database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Strong fundamental knowledge TCP/IP of layer 1 and layer 2 concepts
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Travel up to 45%
