Job description

This is a remote position.

My client is a global algo trading firm with a team of over 200 professionals working remotely worldwide. The focus is on innovation, speed, and cutting-edge technology, enabling us to trade efficiently across major markets, including traditional financial instruments and digital assets. Clint's team thrives in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment, free of bureaucratic hurdles and technical debt.

We are seeking a Global Head of Compliance with experience in algorithmic trading within a proprietary trading firm to lead and shape our compliance function. In this role, you will develop a robust compliance framework tailored to the needs of the firm, ensuring regulatory adherence across all markets where we operate.

You will work closely with key stakeholders—including legal, business development, IT developers, risk management, and trading teams—to evaluate core processes, identify regulatory risks, and introduce adjustments that align with our business strategy.

A significant aspect of this position involves fostering a culture of compliance by designing effective controls, communicating compliance initiatives фетв their necessity clearly, and creating ongoing training initiatives.

You will be tasked with ensuring the balance of compliance with operational efficiency to help the company minimize risks without overcomplicating processes, ensuring our business remains agile, competitive, and scalable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across all jurisdictions where the company operates, including AML and CFT standards (MIFID II, RTS6)

  • Develop and implement a global compliance strategy with both immediate and long-term improvements.

  • Develop and maintain internal KYB (Know Your Business), and Due Diligence procedures for counterparties.

  • Monitor sanctions legislation and perform regular analysis of sanctions risks, regulatory updates throughout the jurisdictions of presence, communicating necessary findings and insights to all business units affected.

  • Build and manage a highly effective compliance team, fostering collaboration and accountability.

  • Develop and implement methods to raise employees’ awareness of compliance requirements at all levels.

  • Handle interactions with regulators across various jurisdictions, ensuring successful audits and compliance reviews.

  • Prepare and submit required regulatory reports and filings, promptly and accurately.

  • Develop and implement risk management strategies and controls to mitigate regulatory and reputational risks.

  • Conduct internal investigations, oversee anti-corruption policies, and organize whistleblowing mechanisms.

  • Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on compliance-related matters and future-proofing the organization against emerging regulatory landscapes.

  • Continuously monitor internal processes, ensuring adherence to t compliance standards and best market practices.



Requirements
  • Demonstrated expertise in adopting and implementing regulatory requirements within an algorithmic trading environment. This includes the ability to translate regulatory obligations into actionable tasks for developers and other relevant teams, ensuring seamless integration into the company's operations and workflows.

  • Extensive experience in a senior compliance role at an algo trading firm ideally a prop-shop

  • Deep knowledge of global financial regulations with focus on US, EU and experience with license applications.

  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with a proven ability to build and lead distributed teams.

  • Exceptional negotiation and interaction skills with regulators and counterparties.

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
