Job description

Field Quality Assurance Inspector  
Location: Remote New Jersey

ICF is seeking a Field Quality Assurance Inspector to join the growing Energy Efficiency Implementation and Contract Administration team. The position will perform Energy Efficiency project and program on-site and desk quality assurance reviews for one or more utility clients under moderate supervision. The scope of work for this role includes outreach, education and quality assurance inspections of trade ally installation and services work across all sectors.  The focus will be on quality assurance management, execution, and reporting to ensure trade ally work adheres to program requirements. This position will require travel throughout NJ.

What you will be doing:  

  • Perform on-site field inspections of energy efficiency measures such as HVAC systems, central plant equipment, lighting, controls, insulation, and other energy-saving upgrades in commercial and multifamily buildings  
  • Monitoring trade ally/contractor performance
  • Verify the correct installation and functionality of equipment in compliance with program standards
  • Identify any deficiencies or deviations from approved program application, documenting findings and working with trade allies/contractors to ensure corrective actions are taken
  • Review and verify applications and supporting documentation meet program requirements
  • Provide education and technical support to trade allies/contractors , and commercial and multifamily customers
  • Complete reporting on inspection findings and work with program management team on deficiencies and program compliance management
  • Support program training initiatives for customers, trade allies and contractors
  • The position will be required to maintain high customer satisfaction at all levels of the customer organization
  • Must have a reliable vehicle for local travel. Requirements are up to 75% of the time throughout New Jersey for QA/QC efforts. (reimbursement for mileage provided)  


What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Engineering, Building Technology or related discipline (or applicants can substitute one year of related experience for one year of education) 
  • 2+ year(s) experience energy efficiency audits, quality assurance, construction and/or related 
  • Able to lift boxes no heavier than 30 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, driving, walking, standing, above head arm movements 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and a drug screening

What would be useful (preferred skills):

  • Experience performing quality assurance on complex projects ideally in utility led Energy Efficiency programs
  • Experience working with energy efficiency trade allies/contractors
  • Ability to provide direction to customers, trade allies/contractors on process improvement and program adherence
  • Customer, Trade ally/contractor engagement experience   
  • Program/project management and customer service experience
  • Understanding of energy efficiency technologies, building systems and codes  
  • Experience relaying program and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders 
  • Experience managing external vendors/parties

  • Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$66,730.00 - $113,440.00
