What are we looking for?
We’re looking for a motivated General Accountant to join our team! If you’re someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys making a tangible impact on financial operations, this might be the perfect opportunity for you. As a General Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Commercial Controller by managing key financial processes and ensuring the accuracy of our accounting systems. You’ll work across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting, contributing to the smooth operation of our business.
What are you expected to do?
As a General Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:
- Accounts Receivable Management: Process invoices, follow up on outstanding payments, and respond to client inquiries regarding invoices.
- Accounts Payable Processing: Manage payments, accruals, and budgeting while ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
- Expense Verification: Review and process business expenses to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Financial Reporting: Generate reports including aged debt summaries, profit and loss statements, and forecasts.
- Employee Management in Systems: Set up new starters, update employee details, and manage payroll processing.
- Leave Processing: Oversee and manage leave requests within the payroll system.
- Internal Controls Review: Evaluate and recommend improvements to accounting procedures to enhance internal controls and overall efficiency.
- Media Reporting Assistance: Support the Commercial Controller with reporting for media-related activities.

You’ll be a great fit if:
- You have 5 years of experience as a General accountant managing Australian clients or accounts.
- You have a bachelor’s degree in accounting (or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree).Preferably, you hold a CPA or any equivalent accounting certification.
- You bring proven experience in reconciliation, financial reporting,payroll,accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- You have a good working knowledge of Australian accounting and compliance.
- You have experience with accounting software like Xero and advanced expertise in Excel formulas
- You have excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
We will be absolutely thrilled if you also have the following:
- You have experience reviewing and recommending improvements to internal controls and accounting procedures.
- You bring prior exposure to media reporting or similar financial reporting tasks.
- You are proactive in identifying ways to improve financial systems and processes.

What happens after you submit your application?
The whole process takes around 4 weeks:
- There will be 3-4 interviews and a possible assessment from our client partner. You will undergo an initial interview, a culture interview, and 1-2 interviews with our cool client. This will run for about 1-2 weeks but we will let you know if we need to ramp it up. Be yourself and have fun.
- We will constantly communicate with you as to the development of your application. You can also directly communicate with us to ask us about the status of your application.
- If all goes well, we complete the reference check and provide other necessary requirements so we can offer you the job right away.
