Job description

Overview:

FedWriters is building a team to use digital service best practices to provide an optimized customer experience to visitors of Travel.State.Gov (TSG), the Bureau of Consular Affairs' flagship website with over 600 million page views per year. Leading the user experience and design vision for Travel.State.Gov's redesign, ensuring an intuitive, accessible, and user-centered digital service. The Design Lead will oversee all aspects of design from research through implementation.

**This position is contingent upon contract award**

Work Schedule and Location:

Remote: This full-time remote position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm

Responsibilities:

Lead user research and usability testing efforts
Develop and maintain design system based on U.S. Web Design System
Ensure designs meet and exceed accessibility requirements
Create user-centered design artifacts including wireframes and prototypes
Collaborate with content teams to ensure clear, concise messaging
Guide implementation of designs to maintain quality and consistency

Qualifications:

7+ years experience leading UX/UI design for large-scale digital services
Expert knowledge of accessibility requirements and inclusive design
Experience conducting user research and usability testing
Familiarity with U.S. Web Design System and federal digital standards is desired
Track record of success in agile environments
Must possess MRPT (Moderate Risk Public Trust) clearance
