The role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Data Taxonomist to join our team with the mission of preparing today's learners for tomorrow's workforce. This role presents an exciting opportunity for recent graduates from all fields of study to gain valuable experience in AI-powered technology. By working directly with the foundational elements of machine learning tools, you will position yourself at the intersection of the education and technology sectors and actively collaborate with higher education institutions worldwide.
As a key member of our Data Annotation and Taxonomy team, you will ensure that our data dictionaries and taxonomies remain at the forefront of the industry, accurately capturing the landscape and relationships between skills, occupations, fields of study, and industries. Leveraging your educational and professional background, you will become an expert in various fields as we continuously expand our occupational and educational taxonomies. Our goal is to assist higher education institutions globally in aligning with labor market demands and to empower students on their professional journeys by providing clarity and actionable steps toward their unique aspirations.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in both English and Spanish, possess exceptional attention to detail, and demonstrate strong teamwork and organizational skills. Experience with spreadsheet software and the ability to deliver results under tight deadlines are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance taxonomies: Collaborate with the team to build and refine our occupational and educational taxonomies, ensuring they accurately represent the relationships between skills, occupations, industries, and fields of study.
- Data management: Maintain and organize data dictionaries, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across our platform.
- Quality assurance: Perform rigorous quality checks on data and results, ensuring the reliability and integrity of our taxonomies at both the student and institutional levels.
- Research and development: Stay informed on labor market trends and educational advancements to continuously improve our data pipeline and analysis services.
- Curriculum Analysis: Play an active role in developing our curriculum consulting services, focusing on data gathering and results review.
- Multilingual translation: Translate terms, and definitions into Spanish, contributing to the creation of the first Spanish occupational taxonomy for our global partners.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with other team members to consistently improve our AI system, platform and analysis services.
- Support continuous improvement: Provide feedback and suggestions to enhance our data governance protocols and taxonomy development processes.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from any field of study.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English, with high proficiency in written communication in both languages.
- Ability to manage and organize complex data effectively, demonstrating strong critical thinking skills.
- Strong commitment to data accuracy and precision in all tasks.
- Ability to conduct thorough research and extract relevant information from diverse sources.
- Proficiency with spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with the capability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Preffered Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a research intensive field.
- Familiarity with creating and managing complex datasets.
- Experience in managing projects, particularly those involving data management or educational technolo
- Quality Assurance Experience: Previous experience in quality assurance processes, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
