Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all vendor bills are entered into Sage correctly and posted to correct General Ledger Account.  (Including Prepaids, Accruals and Fixed Assets
  •  Download bank transactions daily looking for fraudulent items posting to account.  Non-Posted items must be researched and identified each day.  Bank must be notified same day of any fraudulent items.
  •  Manage Cash position in all bank accounts maximizing interest income.
  • Reconciles, researches and clears all outstanding items for all Balance Sheet accounts at least monthly to ensure Financial Statement Accuracy.  All outstanding items should be cleared within 60 days unless specifically approved by the Controller
  •  Create electronic files for all reconciliations in organized manner and ensures all account reconciliation have proper supporting documentation included in electronic file storage.
  • Assures compliance with policies and procedures
  • Cross Train with other accounting positions
  • Administrator 401k ensuring compliance with annual audit and best practices.  Interface with Audit Firm to provide required reports and TPA for ongoing 401k support.  Ensure Audit findings are corrected.
  • Interface with CPA to in preparation of tax returns and annual Compiled Financial Statements.  Make estimated tax payments.
  • Records journal entries as necessary with proper description.
  • Prepares various internal reports used for management including but not limited to: Bill to Pay, Labor Analysis, Profitability Analysis, Employee Incentive Bud/Actual
  • Help with Payroll and Benefits.
  • Various ad hoc projects assigned by the Controller
  • Facilitates the preparing of internal and external correspondence
  • Designs, produces, and prints documents and presentations
  • Develops and manages a list of facility related improvements/repairs and works with management in development of budget
  • Writing various letters and sales reports of a confidential nature
  • Easily analyzes and prioritizes information, distilling it to the critical issues and drawing accurate conclusions
  • Provide input to President, Vice President, and senior management on performance red flags that need attention
  • Takes responsibility for organizing one’s time to complete tasks
  • Takes responsibility for the progress of small projects and seeks clarification when necessary to complete tasks
  • Other duties as assigned

Education:

  • 2 years experience in the accounting field preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or similar field preferred. Or equivalent combination of business/management experience and education

Competencies:

  • Proven ability to identify issues and resolve problems
  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks daily
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Adapt to changing task and priorities
  • Excel ability desired.
