We seek a talented Advertising Copywriter to join our dynamic team and play a key role in shaping our provider-focused advertising efforts. You will develop, write, and meticulously refine content spanning treatment center and program descriptions, social media posts, ad copy, and landing pages. Your responsibilities will extend to editorial tasks such as proofreading, copyediting, fact-checking, and formatting for center profiles. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for crafting compelling copy that drives brand awareness, engagement, and conversion, strong writing and editing skills, and it is crucial for the writer to understand that while they are crafting content for the customer, they must also uphold our brand, mission, and values.

A key aspect of this role is maintaining objectivity and remaining unbiased in all communications, in-depth understanding of our company’s mission, products, and services. As an Advertising Copywriter, you will play a crucial role in engaging with providers and centers during their onboarding process to gather detailed insights into the unique aspects of their programs. Your primary responsibility will be to craft and regularly update engaging profiles for our site that accurately reflect these programs in accordance with our brand voice and guidelines. Additionally, you will ensure that all content is current and resonates deeply with our patient population, aiding their recovery journey. A deep understanding of the provider landscape and patient needs is essential, as your goal is to effectively communicate relevant information to those seeking help. This position is critical to bridging the gap between providers and patients by delivering clear, impactful content.

Responsibilities

Writing/Development:

  • Develop creative and strategic copy for marketing materials, including but not limited to provider-based advertising content, center and program descriptions, social media posts, advertisements, and landing pages.
  • Participate in onboarding meetings and virtual tours with centers, engaging professionally to create unique content, recognizing that this content is dynamic, akin to a living document, and subject to evolution and refinement.
  • Follow established and evolving content and performance management style guides.
  • Contribute to social media content creation related to the above.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns to assess the effectiveness of copywriting strategies and identify areas for optimization.
  • Support overall marketing objectives and timelines, contribute to developing and maintaining an active calendar with availability for client-facing calls and ongoing copywriting/editing needs.

Editing:

  • Proofread, copyedit, and fact-check written content for accuracy and clarity.
  • Correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors.
  • Create content that adheres to established and evolving copywriting, content style guides, and APA guidelines.

Communication:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Appropriate netiquette and etiquette.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with our customers, providers, centers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate openness, flexibility, and professionalism in client-facing roles, engaging with customers to identify and define their content requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including content, design, product, and sales, to ensure alignment and cohesion in messaging across all marketing channels.

Creativity:

  • Craft engaging, distinctive content that captures the centers' unique characteristics while resonating with the patient journey.
  • Align with content and customer trends, as well as market changes, to peak interest and engage people across a variety of content initiatives and projects.

Technology:

  • Familiarity with publication systems and tools.
  • Develop proficiency and the ability to quickly learn the coding skills and processes needed to input written content into the backend system.
  • Openness to learning other technologies utilized at Recovery.com.

Research:

  • Conduct comprehensive, preliminary research to gain insights into center onboarding processes, market trends, consumer behavior, and the competitive landscape.
  • Leverage patient and provider journey insights within the recovery process to enhance copywriting efforts.
  • Ability to understand trends and techniques of social media and Recovery.com’s online presence to integrate customer content.

Time Management

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or related field
  • 3-7 years proven experience as a copywriter, preferably in a fast-paced environment or agency setting
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Creative thinker who can generate innovative ideas and translate them into engaging copy that resonates with target audiences
  • Proficiency and familiarity with content management systems (CMS)
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to give constructive feedback
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Compensation
The compensation range for this position is $60,000-80,000 plus eligible benefits. Compensation may be adjusted based on tenure and experience.

Dane County Housing Stipend

We strongly value in-person work and collaboration, so for full-time employees residing in Dane County, we offer a housing stipend of $735/month in addition to your salary ($8,823/yr; half of the Fair Market Value of a 2BR apartment in Madison according to rentdata.org).
