The opportunity:

In this position, the Director Procurement Solutions, will play a key role in the strategic development, expansion and management of Sun Life’s procurement and payment infrastructure. This role will be part of the Global Procurement and Payments organization and report to the AVP Procurement Services, Global Procurement & Payment.

How you will contribute:

  • Ongoing management of Sun Life’s Global Procurement and Payment technology infrastructure

  • Rigorous use of technology to drive business process transformation and continuous improvement.

  • Partnering with Sourcing, Procurement, Accounts Payable and IT as required to build out strategic plans and work on a Digital Transformation

  • Expertise in designing and implementing complex solutions, conducting GAP analysis, Blueprint Design, Configuration, Migrations and leading Change Management initiatives.

  • Development of SAP Ariba system process design, Business Blueprint (BBP) & deployment approach and over-all system design

  • Close collaboration with impacted stakeholder groups globally to understand current processes and develop appropriate change management plans

  • Partner with analytics teams to manage the GPP teams information management and reporting requirements

  • Build and manage the information management infrastructure and reporting strategy to support Category Management and Sourcing reporting requirements

  • Documentation of processes and operating procedures

  • Serve as main point of contact with external consultants / implementation partners as necessary

  • Data-driven decision-making using Sun Life tools (Tableau, etc.)

  • Provide managerial leadership for a small team of SAP Ariba system admins

What you will bring with you:

  • Minimum of 10+ years' experience with Source to Pay (S2P) processes and systems (preferably SAP Ariba, S/4HANA, and Concur)

  • 5 years experience in a management/supervisory role

  • Extensive exposure to Sourcing, Contracting, Procurement and AP processes required

  • Expert procurement and sourcing analytical skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Commerce, Computer Science or Engineering.

  • Competency with financial concepts (taxation, accruals, fixed assets, etc.) accounting designation an asset but equivalent experience will be considered

  • Project experience (PM, BSA, etc.) is an asset

  • Strong client service orientation

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Excellent organizational, documentation and problem-solving skills

  • Strong technical competence and comfort with technical concepts

  • Ability to break down complex scenarios to facilitate analysis and solutioning

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and pivot as needed between them

  • Ability to work in a high profile, fast paced and changing work team environment

  • Willing to work flexible hours to support Sun Life organizations globally

Salary Range: $140,000 - $210,000
