Job description

Title : Regional Program Coordinator

Employee Working Location : Partially Virtual / Hybrid (Canada)

Employment Status : Permanent Full-time

Salary Band : $64,081 - $80,101 / year

In this role, you will :

Responsibility 1 – Support to international service lines and program management

  • Coordinates and manages the National Office support required for implementation of CRC’s operations within the designated countries/regions.
  • Assists the Field in the development and management of budgets (for projects and delegation support) and course-corrections for budget variances, as required for donor compliance and/or accountability.
  • Ensures deadlines and processes are accomplished as per CRC quality and accountability standards including project expenditure and budget compliance
  • Supports the financial forecasting, budgeting, reporting, implementation, monitoring, and performance to budget analysis for each designated country/region in coordination with the field team and CRC finance team.
  • Coordinates with finance to set up coding structure for new projects, support PA in in finance administrative work, following up on wire transfers - in contexts where there are sanctions or unusual processes.
  • Support business development processes in coordination with the International Partnerships team, including proposal development and leading communications with potential donors when required.

Responsibility 2 – CRC Representation and Coordination

  • Maintains strong networks and relationships within CRC and externally.
  • Monitors information provided by field teams about projects and activities taking place in relevant programming areas and acts as first point of contact for program inquiries from and to the CRC National Office and Canada-based stakeholders.

Responsibility 3 – Security and Risk Management

  • Coordinates with field representatives and risk management on Country Security plans and procedures, reviewing security umbrella agreements with ICRC, ICRC, NS etc.
  • Supports the field in identification and mitigation, monitoring, analysis, and regular reporting of risks to program and reputation.
  • Participates in risk management analysis and business continuity, to ensure the effective application of Movement and CRC security protocols.

Responsibility 4 – Supports an effective team

  • Maintains effective communication and discussions with relevant CRC staff and shares information and feedback in a constructive way
  • Ensures sharing and dissemination of project related materials to all concerned actors in the team and with the Canadian Red Cross Society. Adapts field reports for various audiences, as required.
  • Supports the effective functioning of the International Cooperation and Program’s (ICP) team by managing the administrative tasks (planning and organizing meetings, review reports etc.).

What we are looking for :

  • University Degree in international development/relations, project management or comparable related degree.
  • 3-5 years’ experience with an international organization, including experience managing multiple and complex projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in international project management methodology, including of results-based management (RBM) tools.
  • Proven experience in managing projects (including attention to detail and working with tight deadlines), budgets, and personnel.
  • Knowledge of CRC IO systems and processes (D365, PIMS, etc.) is a significant asset.
  • Strong financial management skills and ability to develop, manage, and monitor budgets.
  • Strong written and oral skills in English is required. Proficiency in Asian languages are considered as asset.
  • Strong communication skills orally and in writing, particularly in program proposals, reports and public materials.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills, with ability to trouble-shoot issues, problem solve and integrate a forward-thinking, solutions-oriented culture.
  • Resilience and adaptability to changing circumstances and an evolving environment.
  • Ability to respond to changes in an agile and innovative manner.
  • Proven ability to be a supportive and productive team member.
  • Up-to-date computer skills in MS Office Applications.
  • Ability to travel to regions and within Canada.

Working Conditions :

  • May include long to moderate hours sitting and using computers and office equipment.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours on short notice.
  • Ability to work in stressful and often ambiguous conditions.
