Description
Great opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Business Analyst to join us at Fortis Solutions Group! In this role as a Manufacturing Business Analyst, you will play an integral part in bridging the gap between data analysis, manufacturing processes, and financial planning. Successful candidates will have a mix of technical and soft skills, with a focus on data-driven problem-solving, communication, and process improvement. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate analytical capability, effective cross-functional collaboration, and a strong understanding of manufacturing operations and cost management skills. Also, someone who has data collection and kaizen event experience is preferred and would fare well in this role. This position is salaried, with full benefits including a profit-sharing bonus, 401k with match, medical, dental and vision, paid time off, paid sick time, holiday pay and holiday bonus, tuition reimbursement and parental leave. This is a remote role, working Monday through Friday, standard office hours. Additional hours and occasional weekends may be required based on business needs.
As the Manufacturing Business Analyst, you will play an essential role in analyzing and improving our manufacturing processes. In this position you will work closely with various departments to identify and communicate strategies and opportunities for efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvements. To be successful in this role, you will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of accounting data and manufacturing operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze manufacturing data and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement data-driven strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on the most effective and efficient data collection methods and formats required to analyze and report data.
- Serve as the primary liaison between operations and finance, supporting required efforts to validate project and waste reduction savings across the company network.
- Serve as the primary liaison between manufacturing and IT / Business intelligence to integrate ERP changes into the network Power BI platform.
- Function as lead council for CapEx projects, providing guidance for the required evidence and data collections to achieve company thresholds for ROI analysis and approvals.
- Create detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and track progress against goals.
- Participate in root cause analysis to identify and resolve production issues.
- Provide training and support to staff on process improvements and best practices.
- Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Two years minimum experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, ERP systems).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Excel and Outlook)
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

- Willing to attend required training courses or sessions related to the job as assigned.
Physical Demands:
- Regular sitting and repetitive office tasks are required.
- Position may enter and interact with production area and is required to stand, crouch, lift or do other physical tasks from time to time.
- Pass a pre-employment drug test.
Work Environment:
- Home office: Adequate Wi-fi access required to support company provided computer and allow for seamless use of communication applications and tools for conducting daily business (ie: MS Teams, Zoom, chat, messaging, etc).
- On-site office: Standard office environment, adjacent to production.
- Regular exposure to dust and noise while in the production environment.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Safety shoes and eye protection are highly recommended in the production area.
Travel:
- Some travel may be required, in support of the above responsibilities, including occasional travel outside the US, up to 20% annually.
