Design plays an integral role at Clio, making up one of the three pillars of our Research and Development organization alongside Product Management and Engineering. Product designers directly engage in researching the behaviours and needs of our users. They act as user experience champions as we work to transform the way lawyers and their staff provide services to their clients. As a Principal Product Designer on the Product Design Architecture team, you will tame the complexity of our multi-product portfolio and platform to create valuable experiences for our customers. You will craft 3-5 year experience design strategies that establish a north star, along with durable frameworks that guide the broader design team to deliver near-term impact while progressing the experience toward long-term objectives. As the ideal candidate, you will be a solution-oriented strategist and a systems-thinker through and through, motivated by uncovering and solving wicked hard problems, passionate about inspiring and fostering customer-centered innovation across the product. This role is available to candidates across Canada (excluding Quebec) and the US. If you are local to one of our hubs (Burnaby, Calgary, or Toronto) you will be expected to be in office minimum once per week on one of our Anchor Days.
What you’ll work on:
Lead multi-year, high impact, experience design strategies across a complex portfolio of products and personas.
Create northstar artifacts that inspire and provoke customer-focused roadmaps and designs and align short-term work to longer-term impact.
Craft strategic experience frameworks for high-priority, cross-cutting customer workflows.
Partner cross-team and cross-functionally to understand and align customer and business goals and influence product strategy.
Partner with technology leaders to ensure alignment of technical and experience strategy and architecture.
Foster architecture skills and systems thinking across the design organization.
Help to drive clarity and alignment across design efforts, across initiative and product boundaries.

The full salary range* for this role is $176,000 to $220,000 to $264,000 CAD.Please note there are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency.
*We aim to hire all candidates between the minimum and the midpoint of the full salary range. We reserve the midpoint to the maximum of the salary band for internal employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on individual experience and skillset of the candidate. Please note there are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency.
