Logistics Manager job summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Logistics Manager to oversee and coordinate our logistics operations. The ideal candidate will work closely with different departments to ensure efficient and effective supply chain management, from procurement to delivery. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create site specific logistics plans that can be adapted to all site conditions and challenges.
  • Lead the Set up and management of all onsite or off-site warehouse buildings.
  • Create establish robust Site monitoring procedures for all materials and equipment.
  • Establish good practices and ways of working to efficiently deliver projects.
  • Create accurate forecasts/budgets for tooling & equipment for all warehouse/site related costs/purchases.
  • Utilize Hubble exports & spec checkers to create an accurate site inventory material tracker. (training provided)
  • Ensure the accuracy of the site inventory material tracker is well maintained and kept up to date by the logistics team.
  • Manages & control all project inventory and ensure that all parts are physical counted, reconciled and aligned with Hubble /JDE & GSN.
  • Create/supply activity-based laydown plans to the project team based off the “activity split up drawings” provided by engineering.
  • Understand scope split up of the project to ensure the correct activities are issued to the correct sub-contractor.
  • Manage Staging of material to ensure the correct activities are staged in the correct locations to support/facilitate an efficient installation.
  • Assisting in the setup of “jigs” and pre-fabrication areas and the prefab process for increased install efficiencies for execution.
  • Setting up the GSN scanner system for the site with barcoded locations.
  • Utilizing GSN scanner to receive, put away, and transfer materials to sub-contractors.
  • Manage physical/digital handover of all equipment to the sub-contractors and store in an organized.
  • Maintain physical condition of all Site equipment. Create PORs for site equipment including requisition, maintenance, and repair.
  • Hiring, Training and management of the logistics team. (including internal or staffing agency resources)
  • Manage Internal logistics team monitor work quality, attendance, costs. (provide relevant training on logistics process)
  • Manage the sub-contractor logistics team, monitoring work, attendance, costs. (provide relevant training on logistics process)
  • Work with Supply chain, physical distribution, and procurement to provide the following documents to the project team.
    • 1 week look ahead.
    •  2-6 week look ahead.
  • Alignment with site team on “project look ahead” to ensure forecasted activities are available to the install teams in a timely manner.
  • Reporting
    • Daily protrack reports including incoming and outgoing deliveries.
    • Headcount hours reporting for logistics team.
    • Tracking equipment and site tooling
    • Utilize Omnitracker app to report shortages/discrepancies & quality issues.
    • Truck delivery log
  • Proactively communicate with Supply Chain, Procurement & other departments to ensure products are shipped and tracked in a timely manner against the project schedule.
  • Present & provide concise accurate Shortage reports based off the EDP, project schedule and site inventory material tracker.
  • Conduct site inventory audits to validate that all reports and information being communicated to the wider team is accurate.
  • Actively communicating/escalating issues and needs to the project team.
  • Ability to handle and lead all material management responsibilities.
  • Walk the project site with the SM team members at least twice a week.
  • Conduct pre-start meeting with all procurement vendors to ensure the following –

Shipping schedule received understood.

Weights and measurements of all parts provided.

Packing list matches site inventory material tracker

Safety

  • Keep up to date on the latest federal and state safety regulations.
  • Safety reporting from WH monthly via VI safety software, Velocity.
  • Produce accurate method statements, risk assessments and lifting plans for all work executed by the logistics team.
  • Monitor and ensure safe use of all PIT equipment.
  • Lifting plans for large abnormal loads.

  • Ability to read, interpret and develop supply chain and warehouse inventory reports.
  • Physical strength, stamina, and the ability to walk or stand for long periods of time.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office – Specializing in excel (understanding of basic functions in excel such as VLOOKUP, Concatenation, etc. a plus)
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment a plus (motors, baggage handling systems, etc.

Travel

  • Expected to travel 90% of the time

This is a full-time, non-exempt position, eligible to receive an hourly rate and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. The salary range listed represents the maximum and minimum starting base pay for this position as of the time of posting. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate-dependent.

Salary: $108,000-$120,000 a year.
