  • Higher Education Officer Level 6 | $89,773 - $95,718 p.a. pro rata + 17% superannuation

About the Role

The People and Culture Advisor plays a key supporting role to the People and Culture Business Partner, assisting with a wide range of People and Culture (P&C) activities within Flinders University’s Rural and Remote Health division. This includes ensuring the effective implementation and operationalisation of all P&C policies and processes.
 

Serving as the primary point of contact within Rural and Remote Health for P&C-related inquiries, the Advisor provides expert guidance on the Enterprise Agreement, as well as relevant policies and procedures. Additionally, the position acts as the liaison to the Employment Services and Recruitment teams, ensuring that all necessary processes are followed, and that documentation is completed accurately and on time.
 

The position will be located at either Alice Springs or Darwin campus in the Northern Territory, but responsible for working across a large geographically dispersed team and will require an understanding of working within the rural and remote context.


About You

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline and/or significant demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in P&C

  • Demonstrated experience working with a HRIS, preferably Workday

  • Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential and sensitive matters of a complex nature

  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and experience of providing services in a diverse environment

  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture, and role modelling behaviours that support the University’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and commitment to enhancing educational and research advancement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

  • Sound knowledge of the Australian higher education sector and the distinctive profile of the Flinders University (Desirable).

This position involves child related work and is assessed as requiring a Working with Children Clearance/Ochre Card.

  • Staff working in a health care setting are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID in line with the NT Health policy.
