“Please note this role is full-time and located in Exmouth, Western Australia and relocation is expected if you are not currently a local resident.”

We are Northrop Grumman Australia. Part of an 85,000 strong global Defence organisation, over 800 talented employees in Australia are leveraging our global resources to deliver a superior Australian Defence capability. As we build our business and our capabilities, we are also building a reputation as a great place to work. Help us define what is possible for our nation, and for your career.

This is an exciting time to join our expanding team spearheading the design, supply, installation and commissioning of our cutting-edge Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) facility, strategically located near the picturesque town of Exmouth, Western Australia.

DARC is a global network of three next-generation ground sensors, based in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Together, they will deliver a unique 24/7 all-weather capability, tracking objects in geosynchronous orbit - a testament to Northrop Grumman’s commitment to enhancing security and safety in deep space on a global scale.

Your Role:

  • Manage on-site Integration and Test (I&T) activities for the DARC system, ensuring seamless coordination of systems engineering processes.
  • Oversee the integration of systems, subsystems, products, and external interfaces, with a focus on requirements, design, and verification.
  • Collaborate with international teams, including remote SEIT experts from the US and Australia, to achieve high-quality outcomes.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues in a low-support environment to ensure project success.
  • Apply Systems Engineering principles and lifecycle knowledge to uphold technical assurance and quality standards.
  • Work closely with defence stakeholders to meet integration and testing objectives, ensuring the delivery of cutting-edge technology

About You:

  • Hold a Bachelor of Engineering (or equivalent) with qualifications or training in Systems Engineering, and be eligible for Professional Engineer registration with Engineers Australia.
  • Demonstrate hands-on experience in satellite ground stations or radar systems, showcasing practical problem-solving expertise.
  • Proficient in requirements management, traceability, compliance, and associated tools such as DOORs, underpinned by a strong Systems Engineering foundation.
  • Thrive in independent and remote work environments, while being capable of leading and collaborating within diverse teams.
  • Adept at solving complex technical problems collaboratively, with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Experience in SATCOM ground station or large RADAR system installation and maintenance will distinguish you as a highly desirable candidate.

At Northrop Grumman, you are not just taking a job; you are becoming part of a landmark project, defining a new frontier in aerospace and committing to the highest standards of safety, quality, and technical excellence.

This exciting opportunity will require relocation to Exmouth, Western Australia and come with comprehensive relocation assistance and attractive remote working allowances to support your transition.
