Job description

This is a remote position.

About the Job

As a Senior Android Engineer at Aspire, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Android applications. Previous experience as a Tech lead and/or interaction with principal engineers and architects is highly preferred. Web experience is a plus. You should have a deep understanding of Kotlin, Android SDK, Kotlin coroutines, design patterns, Android architecture, unit and UI testing. Experience with releasing apps on Google Play Console is essential.

What you’ll do

Designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Android applications.
Acting as a Tech lead and providing guidance to the development team.
Collaborating with principal engineers and architects to ensure the technical integrity of the applications.
Releasing apps on Google Play Console and managing the app lifecycle.
Mentoring junior developers and fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
Conducting code reviews and ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
Participating in requirement analysis, design discussions, and sprint planning sessions.
Implementing unit tests and UI tests to ensure application reliability and stability.
Contributing to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
5+ years of experience in professional Android development.
Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Android SDK, Kotlin coroutines, and design patterns.
Deep understanding of Android architecture components and MVVM/MVP architecture.
Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and UI testing frameworks such as Espresso.
Ability to mentor and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience with releasing apps on Google Play Console.
Familiarity with mobile CI/CD systems, preferably Bitrise.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Awareness or knowledge of IT security best practices as defined by ISO / SOC or similar
