Job description

Senior System Analyst, Information Systems

The budgeted starting salary for this role is $113,050

Position Summary:

The System Analyst Sr., Information Systems will partner with function leaders to analyze, evaluate, and recommend information systems that improve the operational efficiency of those functions. They will gather user needs, evaluate the existing system for gaps, discover market capabilities, and assist the project manager in organizing projects. They will also monitor the use of assigned systems and play a key role in system adoption, enhancements, and identifying ways technology can help achieve organizational goals.

Role and Responsibilities:
    • Guides other System Analysts to prioritize, and teach, mentor as needed.
    • Leads cross-functional teams to document business and user requirements, analyze issues, and evaluate changes to develop in processes and systems that meet business and user requirements. 
    • Facilitates conversation and collaboration between functional and technical assigned business groups to help each gain a better understanding of needs and solution capabilities to achieve better outcomes.
    • Investigates and documents system and process defects, issues, and risks to understand the root cause and considers the implications of applying technology and process changes. 
    • Gains knowledge of associated technology areas and assigned operations to identify and document potential conflicts between technologies and functions.
    • Completes risk analysis for requested system and process changes and enhancements.
    • Creates or modifies technical systems, process specifications, or procedures using flow diagrams of system and business processes and other necessary documentation for the change management process.
    • Documents project scope and complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and partner value to help leaders make informed decisions on proposed project viability and priority.
    • Develop policies, processes, and procedures that improve the use of an implemented system.
    • Work with functional leads to generate scenarios, acceptance of testing plans, implementation, and adoption of changes.
    • Supports cross-functional teams to conduct user acceptance testing, technical groups for integration testing cycles, and collaborate in documenting test scripts.
    • Participates in the successful implementation of other functional projects as they arise.
    Qualifications and Education Requirements:
      • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Management, or a related field is required.
      • A minimum of five years of experience in system management or system implementation is required.
      • Demonstrated expertise with Anthology, Monday.com, and other project/analysis tools.
      • Demonstrated expertise in evaluating and analyzing systems.
      • Demonstrated expertise in gathering and writing system requirements.
      • Demonstrated expertise in developing priorities.

      All new hires are required to attend New Collaborator Orientation (NCO) in Salt Lake City, Utah. The College will pay for travel and lodging accommodations.
