About the Company

Gemini is a global crypto and Web3 platform founded by Tyler Winklevoss and Cameron Winklevoss in 2014. Gemini offers a wide range of crypto products and services for individuals and institutions in over 70 countries.

Crypto is about giving you greater choice, independence, and opportunity. We are here to help you on your journey. We build crypto products that are simple, elegant, and secure. Whether you are an individual or an institution, we help you buy, sell, and store your bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

At Gemini, our mission is to unlock the next era of financial, creative, and personal freedom.

The Department: Risk

At Gemini, our Risk function plays a critical role in proactively identifying, assessing, responding to, and communicating Gemini’s exposure, both internally and externally. Gemini is building a robust second line of defense in a first-of-its kind industry; our goal: safeguard Gemini and our users so that we can continue to empower the individual through crypto.

The Role: Associate, Risk Reporting and Analytics

Gemini is looking for a Risk Reporting & Analytics Associate to support the development and management of risk analytics and reporting across the organization. Sitting within the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team, this role will primarily focus on creating and maintaining Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and other risk metrics that provide insights into enterprise-wide risk exposure, supporting effective decision-making in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage risk-related reporting, such as monthly and quarterly key risk indicator reports and risk assessment results reports.
  • Assist in the establishment of risk-based thresholds, and limits, to align with the organization's Risk Appetite.
  • Work with Enterprise Risk Management Lead and Head of Risk to develop agenda items, escalations, insight summaries, and other governance items for board and internal management committee meetings.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to identify, collect, analyze, and present data that visualizes enterprise-wide risk exposures and trends.
  • Assist the Enterprise Risk Team in enhancing and managing risk reporting frameworks, regulatory deliverables, and management reporting.
  • Design and analyze dashboards that communicate the organization’s risk profile through metrics and trends.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity in all risk reporting activities.
  • Maintain and update risk-related inventories, including the risk taxonomy, control inventory, and process and entity libraries.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in developing risk reporting, with a background in financial services or cryptocurrency-related industries.
  • Strong analytical background with knowledge of SQL, Python, or a BI tool (Looker strongly preferred).
  • Knowledge of the broader financial markets.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with effective communication with all levels of an organization, given the high visibility of this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience as a Risk Reporting or Business Analyst at a financial services company.
  • 1+ years of Project Management experience.
  • Experience designing, measuring and reporting product or business line KRIs and/or KPIs.

Salary Range: The base salary range for this role is between $95,000 - $133,000 in the State of New York, the State of California and the State of Washington. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.

In the United States, we have a flexible hybrid work policy for employees who live within 30 miles of our office headquartered in New York City and our office in Seattle. Employees within the New York and Seattle metropolitan areas are expected to work from the designated office twice a week, unless there is a job-specific requirement to be in the office every workday. Employees outside of these areas are considered part of our remote-first workforce. We believe our hybrid approach for those near our NYC and Seattle offices increases productivity through more in-person collaboration where possible.

At Gemini, we strive to build diverse teams that reflect the people we want to empower through our products, and we are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or Veteran status.
