Your Role in Our Journey:
We are seeking a Marketing Communications Strategist on a 1 year contract to join our team and play a key role in defending, refining, and promoting our brand. This individual will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our brand voice while ensuring consistency and quality across all communications. If you’re a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and a knack for data-driven storytelling, this position is made for you.

The impact you could have…As an experienced writer, editor, and brand professional, you will have the opportunity to:Champion Jane’s Brand: Learn and internalize Jane’s brand voice and values, then mentor junior editors and writers across the company to ensure all content aligns with our exceptionally high standards—bringing a human touch to everything we create.Elevate Content Quality: Edit and continuously improve all forms of content—emails, blogs, guides, podcasts, social media, campaign materials, and more—to ensure consistent, high-quality output across all channels.Ensure Brand Consistency and Integrity: Work closely with the Marketing Communications Manager, Director of Marketing Communications, and senior leaders to handle legal aspects of brand growth, including content contracts, trademark applications, and brand defense.Measure and Drive Brand Impact: Collaborate with the team to build and present a comprehensive monthly Brand Report that tracks Jane’s overall brand impact in the industry and highlights key insights and opportunities.Shape Brand Strategy: Contribute to the research, planning, and execution of strategic brand initiatives, from creating compelling brand messaging to testing and analyzing results to inform future campaigns.Lead Editorial Projects: Serve as a senior resource for editing our print magazine, writing/editing press releases, email campaigns, our growing podcast, ensuring the editorial content remains aligned with our brand voice and values and resonates with our audience.The experience we feel we need 5+ Years of Experience: A proven track record as a writer and editor in fast-paced environments, with a portfolio that demonstrates your skill in crafting clear and compelling content that upholds a company’s brand voice, tone, and valuesDemonstrated Writing Experience: Great editors are also great writers. You should be able to demonstrate your history as a writer with samples.Brand Expertise: Demonstrated ability to apply writing and editing skills toData-Driven Mindset: Experience reporting on brand impact and using data to assess the business effect of your work and guide future decisions.Project Management Tools: Experience with tools such as Monday.com, Notion, Miro, Google Suite, AI for writing, survey tools, brand tracking tools, and Slack to manage tasks and projects efficiently.Stakeholder Management: Clear understanding of how to manage relationships with senior stakeholders, ensuring smooth collaboration and alignment while driving projects to completion.Creative Problem Solving: Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to deliver innovative solutions within established company guidelines.Bonus: Experience with video editing software for creating tutorial or promotional videos is a plus.Compensation Expectations for the Role
Jane’s committed to paying our team members fairly, clearly, and above all, paying for growth. This role has a minimum annual salary of $84,600 and maximum annual salary of $132,100. As you may have noticed, this salary range is quite large, and this is intentional to account for the growth someone will experience in the role throughout their time at Jane (i.e., from building the skills, to accomplished, to highly proficient, all the way to achieving excellence in the role). When hiring talented folks to join the Jane team, we’ve found that new team members are best set up for success when hired with the expectation of being fully accomplished in the role, which for this role would reflect a starting salary of $105,700.
It's also possible to join Jane at a salary above or below this, which would mean a salary below $105,700 typically reflects someone who has all the potential to be fully accomplished in the role but doesn't yet possess all the skills required, while a salary above $105,700 is typically for individuals who are currently in this role at Jane and had the opportunity to make a significant positive impact on our customers, product and company with deep Jane knowledge.
