Senior Financial Accountant
Reporting directly to the General Manager & CFO, this role will oversee the company's day to day financial operations. The role is a general finance role, encompassing all financial aspects to support the business as they enter their next phase of growth. The role would suit a finance professional that can manage the day to day responsibilities whilst supporting with analysis, reporting and compliance with relevant tax laws.
Responsibilities Include:
Purchase Order Management
Ensure purchase orders are entered into the system and matched to invoices when received. This will require closely working with production and completing factory reconciliations on a monthly basis.
End-of-Month (EOM) Close Support:
Manage the EOM close process, ensuring that all financial information is accurately compiled including making all necessary adjustments. This includes maintaining an updated balance sheet reconciliation file and reviewing with the CFO on a monthly basis.
General Ledger Ownership:
Manage and maintain the integrity of the General Ledger, in line with the budget and commercial knowledge of the business.
Sales Reporting:
Prepare and manage daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports, providing analysis to the GM and CFO to support business strategy and performance tracking.
Management Accounts Review & Variance Analysis:
Review monthly accounts and support the CFO in providing variance analysis to support in decision-making and identifying areas for improvement.
Commercial Analysis:
As the business grows there are ad hoc analysis tasks that would assist the business in decision-making that would form part of the role. The includes but is not limited to freight recovery, duties and taxes etc.
Tax Compliance:
Assist the CFO in maintaining tax compliance for the business. This includes but isn’t limited to running reports, filling out necessary documents, prepare supporting tax schedules and maintaining reconciliations. This also includes collaborating with tax professionals in each region, to ensure compliance with relevant global tax laws.
Financial Controls and Process Improvement:
Assist in
implementing process improvements to strengthen financial controls and efficiency across the finance function.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments to support financial planning, provide insights, and ensure financial alignment across all business units.
Key Skills Required
- Qualified Accountant (CA or CPA)
- Can demonstrate commercial business acumen and experience within product business preferably fashion retail
- Strong technical accounting skills & experience
- Understanding of global business finance requirements
- Have strong communication & reporting skills
- Is confident with financial & data analysis
- Held a similar role for 5 - 7 years
