JOB SUMMARY:

The Director, Global Commercial Strategy at BioCryst Pharmaceuticals will have experience in commercial strategic planning, cross-functional management, and business operations in a pharmaceutical setting and will work closely with cross-functional teams in leading and influencing to achieve business objectives. This role works across functions to develop and implement key initiatives to expand the global opportunity for BioCryst’s portfolio. This role is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and coordination among commercial, medical, market access, HEOR, data and insights, development, regulatory, supply chain, and other key functions to develop and execute BioCryst’s global expansion and lifecycle plans for Hereditary Angioedema (HAE).   #LI-Remote

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, align, and execute HAE long-term lifecycle management strategies with cross-functional partners.
  • Coordinate across regions and global teams to drive market leader positioning through communication and publication plans
  • Identify and evaluate market and evidence generation opportunities through customer insights and competitive trends, while balance investment and commercial value to maximize long-term success of HAE franchise.
  • Works frequently across global functions – commercial, medical, market access, HEOR, development, analytics, regulatory, supply chain, finance, legal, etc. to ensure and efficiently execute implementation plans to meet team and corporate objectives.
  • Works proactively with team to identify any cross functional dependencies and constraints and facilitate resolution activities to achieve the desired outcomes. Escalate issues quickly to leadership as needed.
  • Partners with project management to analyze, optimize and integrate cross-functional key activities, resources, risks and budgets into the project plan to support key business decisions and ensure delivery of team and corporate objectives.
  • Creates and encourages a team environment to openly, effectively, and consistently resolve challenges.
  • Organizes and executes effective presentations of consistently high quality to senior management on the activities/status of projects, information/status updates and milestone presentations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or science; graduate level training preferred (MD, PhD, PharmD, MBA) with 8+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry in commercial, medical, market access, analytics, or development or equivalent experience/education combination
  • Knowledge and experience with commercial strategic planning, forecasting, and lifecycle management, preferably in competitive rare disease environments.
  • Knowledge and preferably experience of project management concepts, techniques and processes.
  • Very strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and written skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects in a cross functional team environment.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams comprised of technical professionals (internal and external).
  • Demonstrated understanding of key disciplines in cross-functional pharmaceutical commercialization such as commercial, medical, operations, regulatory, and supply chain.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to apply good business judgment to critically assess and prioritize issues.
  • Travel up to 25% required.
